INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS:


1. From "A" or "B" drive at the DOS prompt,
   type INSTALL A: C: and press ENTER.

   Installer will make a Quatra directory and copy game files to this
   directory. To terminate game, press ESCAPE.

   Please Note: * Mouse button controls:
                        Left button is lasers.
                        Right button is photon torpedoes.
                        BOTH buttons is shields.

                * Keyboard controls:
                        SPACEBAR is laser.
                        CONTROL is photon torpedoes.
                        SHIFT is shields.
                        DIRECTIONAL KEYS are for movement.

                * Joystick controls:
                        Button 1 is lasers.
                        Button 2 is photon torpedoes.
                        BOTH Buttons is shields.

                * we support MOUSE, KEYBOARD, or JOYSTICK control.
                  You can use 1 or all 3 at the same time.

                * Game levels are 1, 3, and 7 on demo.
                  Registered version is 1 through 10.

Optional: (joystick support)

 copy the joystick support files
 example: Copy C:\Quatra\JOYSTICK.CPL C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM
          Copy C:\Quatra\IBMJOY.DRV   C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM

 then    1) Run Quatra.
         2) Press F9 select adjust system.ini file for joystick.
         3) Quit Quatra.
         4) Restart windows.
         5) Run Quatra.
         6) Press F2, Enable joystick.
         7) Calibrate and test joystick.
            Click OK and save configuration.
            Play Game.

 or

 Add the following to your SYSTEM.INI file in your windows directory.
 Find the section '[drivers]' and add 'joystick=ibmjoy.drv'

 example:

 [drivers]
 joystick=ibmjoy.drv

 {Be sure ibmjoy.drv is in your system directory}

 You must restart windows in order for this to work.
 Run control panel to calibrate the joystick.



****STEREO****STEREO****STEREO****

Stereo is disabled on shipping Demo and Release!!!!
You must either run Quatra, press F2 and Change it, exit Quatra and run
again.

Or you must edit the Quatra.INI FILE and change the 'StereoStatus=0' to
'StereoStatus=1', then run Quatra Command(tm).

NOTE: Stereo is a speed decrease in the game's performance;
      you can press F5 and lower the detail options to compensate.
      Or play the game in mono-sound.

      Stereo is also a memory hog.
      If you are low on memory, set this option off.
