                    MANUAL ADDITIONS/CLARIFICATION/CHANGES
                    ---------------------------------------
There are a maximum of 40 groups per side allowed on the battlefield
at any given time. Each group is limited to a maximum of 50 members.
If you ever have trouble trying to deploy a group from your barracks,
it will be because the maximum troop limit has been reached.

Horses can be used to effectively block enemy troops on the field,
however, care must be taken so this strategy doesn't backfire. Use
caution when deploying large groups of cavalry units to avoid congestion
in your own barracks area. Please note that horses count as 2 units
and therefore the maximum group limit is 25, not 50.

The Range Display for missile troops available in the OPTIONS menu,
is only visible from the STATEGIC VIEW (F3 view)

When marking areas for the construction or use of siege equipment,
the highlighted box will change in color from yellow to brown if
the area is unsuitable for the task you are trying to accomplish.

While the interface of WALLS OF ROME is similar to SIEGE, there are
a number of changes to the interface (for example: in SIEGE, 'A'=
Attack, WALLS 'A' command is "Advance" which replaces the 'Go' command
used in SIEGE) as well as addition of a number of new command options.
Please read the "Commands" section of the game manual before playing.

Caution! Greek Fire is extremely dangerous, use with care...

                            -- Troubleshooting --

Error messages during the game are displayed to be self explanatory,
for example "Mouse driver not detected" would tell you that you forgot
to the load the 100% Microsoft or Logitech compatible mouse driver
    before running Walls of Rome.

Error messages related to memory problems will display what type of
memory is insufficient such as "insufficient XMS memory" and what
the results are, such as "Sound effects not available". You will
need to read the "Troubleshooting" section of the manual or run the
HELP program to get help in clearing memory.

Please see the "Troubleshooting" section of the manual and/or the
options on HELP program for Sound Board, memory, and boot disk help.

                       MANUAL INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS

In some rare cases it is possible that Walls of Rome may have
a problem installing to your specific hard drive setup. If problems
occur be sure to clear TSRs from memory. You may also try creating a
boot disk to see if that fixes the problem (refer to the section
"Troubleshooting" for information on TSRs and creating a boot disk or
    use the included HELP program).

    To manually install the game:

    1) On the hard drive build a subdirectory for Walls of Rome:

       C:
       CD \
       MKDIR WALLS

    2) Change directory to the Walls of Rome directory:

       CD \WALLS

    3) Copy all files from each of the game disks into the Walls of Rome
       directory.

       COPY A:*.* C:\WALLS

Repeat this step for each game disk until all files are copied.

    4) The game is shipped on several disks, each disk contains a
compressed file (WALLSx.CMP - x being the disk number) that
must be uncompressed before game play by typing:

       DCMP WALLS1.CMP
       DCMP WALLS2.CMP
       DCMP WALLS3.CMP

The number of files depens on the number of disks in your boxed game.

    5) Delete the original compressed files from hard drive when Step 4 is
       completed:

       DEL *.CMP

    6) Type WALLS to start the game.
