  The Sonic Boom
  ~~~ ~~~~~ ~~~~
There's a quiet in the night, a hush all around;
A forest, silent, at peace, with barely any sound.
The wind is heard, through the trees, and flows all about,
And if you listen, very close, you may hear an owl's shout.
Yet high above a person sits, who knows none of this,
Only what has to be done; finish hit or miss.
Far up there, he can only hear the roar of the plane all
  around;
As as his thrusters turn to full, he approaches the speed of
  sound.
Back, down below, all is calm, and silent that very night.
But, soon it's heard, that Sonic Boom as he comes into sight.
A hard wall of sound that jams the ears and ripples through
  the air.
And deafens a few on the land, below, down in that forest
  there.
But up above, the man cares not, and feels the wild rush,
Yet the thunder he made, rolls over the hills, and every
  animal's crushed.
Not a sound, any longer, is heard there now after Man's
  feared looming.
Await its arrival, yourself, my friend; and hear the Sonic
  Booming.
