LN:DI Professional Edition Release Notes
--------------------------------------------

This document contains release information for the LN:DI Professional Edition
Release 2.61. Updates to the product will be available through the standard
Lotus distribution mechanism, Knowledge Base.

After installing the LN:DI Professional Edition client you must modify your
Autoexec.bat file. If you are running in a Lotus Notes environment, the Notes
program directory must be in your path statement. If you are running in a
cc:Mail environment the cc:Mail program directory must be in your path
statement.

If you have both the Lotus Notes and cc:Mail program directories in your
path statement, the LN:DI Professional Edition will use the mail system
which is listed first in your path statement.

The LN:DI Professional Edition will not work with the Lotus Notes mail
transport when the Notes user ID has a domain certificate about to expire.
This problem will be resolved in a later release of Lotus Notes.

Users of Compaq Pentium systems with a QVision video controller card must
add the following line in their SYSTEM.INI file in order for the LN:DI
Professional Edition to function properly. Locate the following line in
the SYSTEM.INI file, [mga.drv], and under it place the line devbits=off.
You will need to restart your system for these changes to take effect.

After installation of the LN:DI Professional Edition you must select
File-Printer Setup and select a printer prior to printing a document.

LN:DI Professional Edition LNDI.INI file changes
================================================

To enable certain features of the LN:DI Professional v2.61 release, changes need to be made
to the LNDI.INI file contained in your Windows subdirectory.

1. Support for the Hewlett-Packard DesignJet 650C

A fix has been made to the software to support the Hewlett-Packard DesignJet 650C Printer.
This fix has been tested with the HP DesignJet 650C (C2859B), version 1.4 Print Driver.
LN:DI Professional will not work properly with the HP DesignJet 250C (C3191A) Print Driver.

The following changes need to be made to the LNDI.INI in order to enable support for this
printer :

a. Under the user section add the following line :

[User]

	SetDIBATPrinter=1

b. Under the PrtNoBitBlt section add the following line :

[PrtNoBitBlt]

	HP DesignJet 650C (C2859B)=1

2. Support for Duplex Scanning

LN:DI Professional Edition v2.61 now supports duplex scanning.

The following changes need to be made to the LNDI.INI in order to enable support for this
option :

a. Under the user section add the following line :

Duplex=1

Setting this option to 0 will disable Duplex Scanning.

3. Support for different TWAIN data source implementations

If you are using the LN:DI Profesisonal TWAIN Acquire menu function, as opposed to the native
ISIS drivers for scanner support, please read the following section.

LN:DI Professional v2.61 expects the TWAIN data source to support the current TWAIN interface
definition. Since many TWAIN drivers are still using older versions of the TWAIN specification,
LN:DI may misinterpret the pixel flavor (which value indicates "white" as opposed to "black").
There are three variables in the LNDI.INI file which may be modified to support older TWAIN
drivers which exhibit problems scanning images. The new variables and their default values
within the LNDI.INI file are:

	TwainReverseBitonal=0
	TwainReverseGray=0
	TwainReverseColor=0

These settings should work properly with TWAIN drivers written to the latest TWAIN
specification.

If you are using an older TWAIN driver and bitonal images are displaying in reverse contrast,
make the following change to your LNDI.INI file:

	TwainReverseBitonal=1

If gray scale images are displaying incorrectly (i.e. not displaying the right shades of gray)
make the following change to your LNDI.INI file:

	TwainReverseGray=1

If color images are displaying incorrectly (i.e. not displaying the right colors) make the
following change to your LNDI.INI file:

	TwainReverseColor=1

Depending on the TWAIN driver you are using, you may need to make one or more of these changes
to get all types of images to display properly.

Problems fixed in this release
=======================

1. The LN:DI Professional Edition v2.6 release would display the error dialog :

" Error: Smarticon error cannot create icon bar window solution you are probably
 low on memory quit some applications, or reboot. "

This has been fixed in the v2.61 release.

2. When using LN:DI Pro v2.6 with a Panasonic KV-SS50 scanner the "Detect Page Size" option
did not function properly. The "Detect Page Size" option now works correctly.

3. Sheetfeeders should now work properly with all certified scanners unless otherwise noted.

Known Issues
============

1. Choosing Edit - Insert Object - LNDI Document and then clicking Choose File... does not work.
The workaround is to click OK on the Insert Object dialog to Launch LN:DI Pro and use
File - Insert... to import the file.

2. The Fujitsu ScanPartner Jr. is not supported in this release of LN:DI Professional Edition.
