TURBOTAX PERSONAL 1040, FINAL EDITION 1/8/96

1. IF YOU HAVE USED THE 1995 HEADSTART EDITION

When you start the Final Edition, TurboTax will NOT
resume EasyStep at the place you stopped in the
HeadStart Edition. The program will start with the
Welcome screen, then it will ask if you want to use the
EasyStep system. However, all the data you entered in
the HeadStart Edition will be present.

We recommend that you select the EasyStep approach when
you start the Final Edition, then you proceed from the
beginning of the EasyStep system. You'll be able to
see and review the information you entered with the
HeadStart Edition.

If you don't want to begin at the start of the EasyStep
system, select the Classic approach, then use the 'Goto
EasyStep' command on the Help Menu to access EasyStep
at the point of your choice.

RESELECT YOUR PRINTER AND OTHER OPTIONS

The first time you start the Final Edition, you should
set up the program options the way you did for the
HeadStart Edition. In particular, be sure to use
the 'Printer setup' command to select your printer
from the Printer List again.

2. ALL FINAL EDITION FORMS APPROVED FOR FILING

You must use the Final Edition to prepare your tax
return for filing with the IRS. All the printed forms
have been approved by the IRS, except the Substitute
(Text) format version of Form 8453, Declaration for
Electronic Filing. The graphic Form 8453 is approved.

3. GRAPHIC PRINTING OF FORMS 1040, 1040A, 1040EZ,
   AND 8453

Graphic printing is available in the Final Edition of
TurboTax. To select graphic printing, enter an 'X' in
the 'Graphic 1040/1040A/1040EZ/8453' option on the Tax
Return Print Settings dialog box. Selecting this method
allows these forms to be printed as exact replicas of
the IRS forms.

4. NEW SCHEDULE H NOT AVAILABLE IN TURBOTAX

If you are required to file Schedule H, Household
Employment Taxes, for your household employee or
employees, complete a copy of the form by hand, then
enter the amount from line 8 or line 27 of Schedule H
on Form 1040, line 53, or Form 1040A, line 27, of your
TurboTax tax return.

5. 1996 FORM W-4 WORKSHEET NOT AVAILABLE

The 1996 Form W-4 Personal Allowance Worksheet was
not available from the IRS at the time TurboTax was
released, so the program contains the 1995 worksheet
with updated calculations. If you are interested in
changing your withholdings for 1996, contact your
employer for a copy of the 1996 form. In addition,
you can request Form W-4 directly from the IRS by
calling 800-829-3676.

6. IMPORTING FROM QUICKEN TO FORM 1099-R WORKSHEET
   OR SCHEDULE E

Pension income and IRA income must be reported on
different copies of the Form 1099-R Worksheet. The
Copy Number for Import is determined in Quicken when
you assign tax categories to your transactions.

Rental income and royalty income must be reported for
separate properties on Schedule E Page 1 or Schedule
E1-Extra. The Copy (Property) Number for Import is
determined in Quicken when you assign tax categories
to your transactions.
