Here is a list of the items discussed below:

	Hurricane Control Center
	The Hurricane RAM Drive
	The Hurricane Print Cache
	The Mode Switch Accelerator
	Read the Discover Help file
	Screen Accelerator
	METZ Freemem and Taskman Utilities
	Resolving Problems Printing
	Resolving Video/Color Problems

Hurricane Control Center:

Each tab in the Control Center now has a green "LED"
indicator which is "lit" (light green) when the
corresponding utility is currently running in memory.

The Mode Switch Accelerator tab contains a "breakpoints"
count. This count indicates how many breakpoints (at most)
were allocated by windows VxDs. With the Mode Switch
Accelerator installed there is no limit to the number of
breakpoints allowed, without it there is a maximum of 768.

The Hurricane RAM Drive:

The Hurricane RAM Drive will not operate when using a
temporary swap file. Use the Windows Control Panel to
switch to a permanent Windows swap file.

The Hurricane Print Cache:

Print Cache now has a background priority setting which
determines how quickly data from the print cache will be
sent to the printer. A higher setting will result in
quicker printing of your documents, but slower operation of
your foreground task.

The Mode Switch Accelerator:

This defaults to having the Virtual Mode Extensions and
Protected Virtual Interrupts off, as these conflict with
some sound cards and some revisions of some BIOSs. Please
try enabling these options to see if your system works with
them on.

Discover:

The discover help file contains more detailed information
than the Hurricane manual. Please Click Help in any screen
to see more information about that screen.

Screen Accelerator:

The Hurricane installation procedure will not enable the
screen accelerator in some low-memory situations, because
the added performance will be lower than the performance
lost due to the memory used by the Screen Accelerator. To
over-ride this setting, install the Screen Accelerator
manually using the Hurricane Control Center.

METZ Freemem and Task Manager:

The METZ Freemem and Task Manager shareware utilities use
resources in an unusual way and require that you manually
add the parameter "UserFixedOnly=on" to the "[HeapExpander]"
section of the HURRICAN.INI file.

Printing Problems:

If any of your software seems to print partial or blank
pages when the Hurricane Print Cache is active, try adding
the statement "RequiresBanding=True" to the "[PrintCache]"
section of the HURRICAN.INI file. The only program that is
known to require this parameter is a beta version of
NETSCAPE.

Video/Color Problems:

If you find regions of the screen being painted in odd
colors, or various objects appearing in unexpected colors,
please try adding the parameter "GDIObjectMapping=Off" to
the "[HeapExpander]" section of the HURRICAN.INI file.
