=====================
IMPORTANT USAGE NOTES
=====================
NetWare(R) Management System(TM) (NMS)(TM)
Be sure NMS 2.x is correctly installed before running NetWare
for SAA* Services Manager 3.0. NMS 2.x patches from NetWire may be
required. Also, if you run NMS on a network drive and experience
system lock-up while running NetWare for SAA Services Manager, remove
NMSCRON.EXE from the "LOAD=" statement in the WIN.INI file. NetExplorer(TM)
can then be run manually as needed.

Connection Requirement
Ensure an IPX (TM) socket and an SPX (TM) connection are available for each
server you wish to manage. These settings can be changed in your NET.CFG
file. When setting these values, be sure to consider the requirements of
other LAN applications.

Server Polling
If you plan to manage a large number of NetWare for SAA servers or remote
servers, consider increasing or removing server polling intervals to reduce
network traffic, especially over slow WAN links. Use the Preferences
dialog box (Configuration > Preferences) to change server polling intervals.
If a server's polling is turned off, you can use the Update command to
force an update of information for that server.

Number of Managed Servers
There is no limit to the number of servers you can add to a managed domain.
However, each managed domain can only have up to 35 simultaneous
server connections, depending on the number of available SPX connections.
If you define more than 35 servers in one managed domain, change the
Auto Login entry in the NWSAAMGR.INI file stored in your \Windows directory
to zero. For example,

[Modes]
Auto Login=0

This disables the automatic login feature so NetWare for SAA Services
Manager does not attempt to log into the servers when the managed domain
is displayed. You can then use Server > Login and Server > Logout to
manually log into and out of the desired servers as needed.

Sorting Servers in the Managed Domain
By default, servers appear in the Managed Domain window in alphanumeric
order. To disable alphanumeric sorting and arrange servers in the order
they are specified in the Add/Remove Servers dialog box, change the Sorted
entry in the NWSAAMGR.INI file stored in the \WINDOWS directory to zero.
This disables alphanumeric sorting. Servers are then arranged according to
the order in which they are specified in the Add/Remove Servers dialog box.

NetWare/IP Performance
If you are using NetWare/IP (TM) and experience slow performance, ensure the
NIP191.EXE patch from NetWire is used. This patch fixes the performance
problems.

BREQUEST.EXE
BREQUEST.EXE must be loaded before you start MS Windows and NetWare for SAA
Services Manager. If you do not use the installation option to update your
AUTOEXEC.BAT file to load BREQUEST.EXE, ensure it is loaded after the
NetWare shell and before MS Windows.

USER NOTES
==========
NetWare Directory Services (NDS)
NetWare for SAA Services Manager 3.0 allows you to manage NetWare 3 and
NetWare 4 servers from the same managed domain. If you wish to manage
NetWare 4 servers, you should log into the desired Directory Services tree
before starting NetWare for SAA Services Manager.

Loading and Unloading NLM (TM) Files on NetWare 3.11 Servers
The loading and unloading of NLM files on servers running NetWare 3.11 is
not supported.

Running NetWare for SAA 1.3B on NetWare 3.11 Servers
If you are running NetWare for SAA 1.3B on a NetWare 3.11 server, ensure
a statement that loads the BSPXCOM.NLM file is included in the server's
AUTOEXEC.NCF file.

Printing
Printing table data may conflict with the printer's PostScript* drivers.
Also, you may experience problems printing graphs under low resource
conditions. However, graphs can always be copied to the clipboard and
printed when the resources become available.

Operator Privileges
If you have operator privileges, you can only view information about your
NetWare for SAA servers. You cannot use any features to control
or manage servers. Also, to view trend analysis, event log, and audit
trail data, you must have rights to the directories in which the data is
stored. Event log and audit trail data files are stored in the server
directory SYS:\SYSTEM\COMMEXEC. Trend analysis data files are stored in the
server directory SYS:\SYSTEM\NWSAA\TAA.
