------------
INSTALLATION
------------

To install the RALLY! Sample Programs:

1) Make sure RALLY! 2.0 is installed on your PC but not running.

2) Place the RALLY! Sample Programs (Disk 1) into an available disk drive
and run the Setup program (SETUP.EXE) using the Windows Run
   command.

If you have installed RALLY! to a file server and used the LAN setup to
install the user files onto your workstation, then you must install
RALLY! Sample Programs into the file server RALLY! directory.

At the present time, the TN5250 connectivity type is not supported
by RALLY! Sample Programs.

Some of the sample programs provided contain AS/400 server code in
addition to PC code. Instructions for installing the AS/400 server
code are located in the AS/400 Software Distributor Help file.
Once the PC software is installed, an AS/400 Software Distributor
Help icon will appear in the RALLY! Sample Programs Program
Group. Clicking this icon will load the Help file containing instructions
for AS/400 Server code installation.

You have a royalty-free right to use and modify the sample files

------------
RESTRICTIONS
------------

Please be aware of the following restrictions in the current
version of RALLY! Sample Programs:

ODBC DRIVER
-----------
1. The ODBC drivers supplied in this version of RALLY! for
AS/400 must be configured before using the Sample Programs. Earlier
releases of the driver (prior to version 1.12 of RALLY!) are not
supported. If you have any questions, please contact Attachmate
Customer Support for an update.

EXPRESS COMMANDBOX
------------------
1. The AS/400 host program RALLYCTBA must be run before
starting the Express CommandBox. If you try to run Express
CommandBox prior to starting this program, you will receive an
error message stating: "Host side of Express Command found,
the AS/400 program RALLYCTBA must be started". After closing
this dialog box, the RALLY! Smartpad will appear on the screen.

2.	Before starting the Express CommandBox, you must have
started, and be signed on to an AS/400 session. The host side of
the Express CommandBox program requires the sign-on information in
order to establish security authorizations.

3.	The Express CommandBox and WinPDM sample programs cannot
be run simultaneously. Please exit Express CommandBox before
starting WinPDM.

USER PROFILE VIEWER SAMPLE PROGRAM
----------------------------------
1.	The path in the User Profile Viewer sample is set to
C:\RALLY!\SAMPLES.API\ODBC_VB. If you have changed the location
of your RALLY! Sample Programs files, or did not accept the
default path at setup, you must edit USERPRF.INI to reflect that
change.

2.	Before running the User Profile Viewer sample program,
you must place the USERPRF.INI file into the WINDOWS\SYSTEM
subdirectory.

3.	Before running the User Profile Viewer program, you must
also place a copy of the database file USER.MDB, located in the
RALLY!\SAMPLES.API\ODBC_VB subdirectory, into the root (C:\)
directory.

SYSTEM MONITOR SAMPLE PROGRAM
-----------------------------
1.	There are two time displays within the System Monitor
program. The display in the upper right corner reflects the PC
time. The display on the information bar at the bottom of the
screen reflects the AS/400 system time.

2.	If you do not have System Administrator authority on the
AS/400, only your active jobs will be displayed in the "Subsystem
- Active Jobs" list box. The "Number of Active Jobs" shown on
the left side of the System Monitor screen reflects the total
number of active jobs on the AS/400.
