{SUMMARY OF NEW FEATURES IN VERSION 1.1
                 {======================================

This section gives a brief description of new program features for
Version 1.1 of LANtastic for TCP/IP. Each topic is covered in more
detail in the other sections of this on-line manual.

{ CLIENT NFS
{  ==========

{ Multiple GID Support
{ --------------------

You can access directories on mounted drives that are accessible by
your User ID (UID), primary Group ID (GID), and secondary GIDs. You
can have up to 15 secondary GIDs. However, you can configure your
drive so that the files and directories are created with a
       secondary GID on this drive.

{ Receive umask
{ -------------

You can receive your umask from the remote server. Any directories
you create will have permissions set as umask XOR 777 and any files
you create will have permissions set as umask XOR 666.

{ Listing User Name and Group Name
{ --------------------------------

You can display a list of user names and group names for each
       file with the UNIX-based commands {ls -l} or {ls -ln}.

{ Specifying the Number of Retries
{ --------------------------------

You can specify the number of retries before Client NFS will
timeout with the {mount} command line option {/t}.

{ Mounting Printers from the Windows Control Panel
{ ------------------------------------------------

You can use the "Browse" button in the Windows "Printers Network
Connections" dialog box to locate and mount a remote NFS printer.
See the NFS PRINT SERVICES section of this on-line manual for
       instructions.

{ Listing Available Printers on NFS Servers
{ -----------------------------------------

You can view a list of all available printers on the server from
the DOS prompt or Windows DOS box by using the {mount} command line
       option {/l}.

In Windows use the "Browse" button in the "Printers Network
Connections" dialog box. See the NFS PRINT SERVICES section of
       this on-line manual.

{ Viewing the Print Queue for a Redirected Printer
{ ------------------------------------------------

You can view a list of all the print jobs in the queue for a
redirected printer from the DOS prompt or Windows DOS box by using
the {mount} command line options {/j} and {/a}.

In Windows use the "Print Manager." See the NFS PRINT SERVICES
       section of this on-line manual.

{ Deleting Print Jobs
{ -------------------

       You can delete print jobs from a print queue by using the {mount}
       command line option {/k}.

In Windows use the "Print Manager." See the NFS PRINT SERVICES
       section of this on-line manual.

{ Displaying Information about Devices on the Network
{ ---------------------------------------------------

You can display all internal information about a mounted device on
the network by using the {mount} command line option {/i}.

{ Discovering NFS Servers on the Network
{ --------------------------------------

You can determine if an NFS server is available on the network by
using the {mount} command line option {/n}.

{ Obtaining RPC Information
{ -------------------------

You can obtain RPC information by using the {mount} command line
       option {/o}.

{ Using Absolute and Relative Symbolic Links
{ ------------------------------------------

You can access and mount directories or files that have symbolic
links on the remote server by using the appropriate pathname in the
       {mount} command.

{ Mounting a File System without File Sharing
{ -------------------------------------------

You can mount a file system without file sharing turned on. Use the
{mount} command line option {/nsh} to inhibit the LOCK daemon from
       detecting file sharing violations.

In Windows check the "File Sharing" check box in the "NFS Network
Options" dialog box. See the NFS PRINT SERVICES section of this
       on-line manual.

{ Using the Lock Daemon
{ ---------------------

You can use the LOCK daemon for file sharing and record locking
management when either PCNFSD or NFSAD are used for authentication.
Use the {mount} command line option {/ld}.

In Windows click in the "Always use rpc.lockd" check box. See the
NFS PRINT SERVICES section of this on-line manual.

{ Preventing Filename Remapping
{ -----------------------------

You can avoid confusion in filename mapping when an NFS server with
a CD-ROM disk returns uppercase letters. Use the {mount} command
line option {/i} during the mount operation.

In Windows check the "Case insensitive for NFS filename" check box.
See the NFS PRINT SERVICES section of this on-line manual.

{ Sending Extra Form Feeds with LPRS
{ ----------------------------------

You can now send extra formfeeds with each print file. This is
helpful when printing from applications that do not send a formfeed
       command to the printer.

{ NEW FEATURES IN THE WINDOWS VERSION
{  ===================================

{ Windows Version of STAT Utility
{ -------------------------------

The program WINSTAT.EXE provides a Windows interface to the STAT

{ ----------------------------------------------

You can select function keys from an on-screen template during
VT340, Tektronix, and TN3270 emulation sessions, and send their
corresponding codes to the remote host or application.

{ Per-Session Keyboard Remapper Support
{ -------------------------------------

performed tasks such as logging into a remote host and starting
     applications.

There are several new sections of on-line documentation that describe
the Script Compiler. See THE SCRIPT COMPILER - OVERVIEW, USING
THE SCRIPT COMPILER, SAMPLE SCRIPTS and COMMAND REFERENCE sections of
     this Update Guide.
