MUSIC MENTOR LE HELP

The Main Screen
Music Mentor's Main Screen allows you to go to the first
page of any of the Basics or History sections. If you click
the Basics button, a panel pops up directly to the right
with a button for each of the six Basics sections. Clicking
any of the six buttons in this panel takes you to the first
page of that section.

Below the Basics button are five History buttons. If you
click any of these buttons, a panel pops up directly to the
right with a button for each of the six fundamental areas of
music. Clicking any of the six buttons in this panel takes
you to the first page of that section.

Moving Through the Basics Sections
At the bottom of every page in the Basics sections are four
buttons. In the bottom right hand corner are three buttons
named "Prev," "Main Screen," and "Next," and in the
lower left hand corner is a button named "History."

The Prev button takes you to the previous page in the
current Basics section. If you are on the first page of a
section, it takes you to the last page of the section. The
Next button takes you to the next page in the current
Basics section. If you are on the last page of a section, it
takes you to the first page of the section. You can use the
Next and Prev buttons to cycle through the pages of any
Basics section. The Main Screen button takes you directly
to Music Mentor's Main Screen.

Clicking the History button pops up a panel with five
buttons, one for each of Music Mentor's historical periods.
Clicking one of the buttons on the panel takes you to the
first page of the section on the current Basics topic for
that historical period. Whenever the pop-up panel is visible,
the History button's label changes to "Cancel." Clicking the
Cancel button causes the panel to disappear without taking
you to another page in Music Mentor.

Moving Through the History Sections
At the bottom of every page in the History sections are four
buttons. In the bottom right hand corner are three buttons
named "Prev," "Main Screen," and "Next," and in the
lower left hand corner is a button named "Back to Basics."

The Prev button takes you to the previous page in the
current historical period. If you are on the first page of a
section, it takes you to the last page of the section. The
Next button takes you to the next page in the current
historical period. If you are on the last page of a section,
it takes you to the first page of the section. You can use
the Next and Prev buttons to cycle through the pages of
any historical period. The Main Screen button takes you
directly to Music Mentor's Main Screen.

Clicking the Back to Basics button takes you to the first
page of the Basics section corresponding to the section
you are currently in.

MIDIBASE LE HELP

Link Button
Clicking Link (under the "Editor" label) brings up the Link
To MIDI Editor dialog box. From this dialog box you can
choose a MIDI editor (any program that reads standard MIDI
files) that you would like to use with the MIDI files. If
you select a program that can read MIDI files, MIDIBase
will be "linked" to that program. When a MIDI editor is
linked it means that clicking the "Edit" button or choosing
Go To MIDI Editor from the File menu will exit MIDIBase
and launch that MIDI editor with the last MIDI file you
played.

Edit Button
Clicking Edit (under the "Editor" label) exits MIDIBase and
launches the MIDI editor that was previously linked to using
the Link To MIDI Editor... command. The MIDI editor will be
launched with the last MIDI file you played.

NOTE: The MIDI file that is loaded in the MIDI Editor will be
the last MIDI file played (by clicking the Play button), not
the last MIDI file selected (by choosing in the list of
pieces).

Play Button
Clicking Play (under the "Controls" label) plays the
currently selected piece.

Stop Button
Clicking Stop (under the "Controls" label) stops the
playback of the currently playing piece.
