INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
-------------------------
1. The WebSurfer application is in a self-extracting zip file.
   Please note that you must use a different update depending on 
   your current Chameleon installation:

   Currently Installed                  Use this Update
   ---------------------                ----------------
   Chameleon or Internet Chameleon 4.x  chamweb2.exe
   ChameleonNFS 4.x                     nfsweb2.exe

   Chameleon Sampler                    DO NOT INSTALL. Incompatible
					files. Any attempt to install
					over sampler will render it
					unusable.

2. To install, please first create a temporary directory (mkdir c:\nmweb)
   Copy the update file to this temporary directory.

3. From file manager or a DOS command line run the self extracting 
   zip file. E.G. From File Manager select FILE, RUN and enter
   c:\nmweb\chamweb.exe 

4. The update zip will expand into several files.  One of these is 
   named  mfc250.dll.  This file needs to be installed  in the Windows
   system directory if you do not already have this version or later
   already installed.

   Before you copy the file check the windows system directory 
   to see if you already have a copy of mfc250.dll.  

   Verify the date stamp of the file and compare it to the date 
   stamp of the mfc250.dll in c:\nmweb 

   If the file in nmweb has a later date (i.e. it is more recent 
   than the one in your c:\windows\system, then rename the older
   copy to be mfc250.bak and then copy the newer one into the 
   windows system directory.

5. Now delete mfc250.dll from the nmweb directory.   

6. Next delete the zip file (nfsweb2.exe or chamweb2.exe) from 
   the nmweb directory

7. Copy all the remaining files in the nmweb directory to 
   the c:\netmanag directory, or wherever you have your 
   copy of Chameleon installed.  You will need to do this 
   when no NetManage applications are running, or copy the
   files at the DOS level before entering Windows.

8. After copying the files to the c:\netmanag directory, 
   now reboot your system.

9. You can now delete all the files in the nmweb directory.

10.Finally, you can now create an icon for WebSurfer from 
   program manager under File, New.  Or simply drag the executable
   websurf.exe from c:\netmanag in file manager to the Chameleon
   program group.

11. To test WebSurfer double click on the icon.  It should intially
    show you the default local home page.  After connecting to your
    network try connecting to the NetManage home page at: 
    http://www.netmanage.com.
