if you do not have truespace installed, install truespace 1.0

go to present truespace directory

copy version 1.0 truespac.exe to true1.exe or other name of your
choosing. This will preserve your version 1.0 truespace so that
you do not write over it when you unzip the beta.
You can create another program manager icon to activate
your truespace 1.0 by going to the program manager and creating
a new item and putting the path to true1.exe in the command line
for the item. Example is c:\truspace\true1.exe if c:\truespac is
your truespace directory. Name the item Truespace 1.0 to differentiate
it from the beta.

pkunzip truespac.zip to truespace directory
if you want to unzip from the floppy then if your floppy drive is
a: and your truespac directory is c:\truspace then change to your
floppy drive and type the following example
Example: pkunzip a:\truespac.zip c:\truespac

this will unzip beta 1 truespace.exe version 2.0 to your directory
along with ai.plg and init.ps and calatm.dll

pkunzip a:3dr.zip to windows directory
Example: pkunzip a:\3dr.zip c:\windows
this will put all the files to do with 3dr (a 3d rendering subsystem
used by truespace) in your windows directory. The default configuration
is in 3dr.ini. It will use a generic driver that makes no assumption
about your video card.
if you have a matrox impression plus please consult the beta1.wri
file to setup both 3dr.ini and the windows display to use the
hardware acceleration.

pkunzip a:rwl.zip to windows directory
Example: pkunzip a:\rwl.zip c:\windows
this will put the dll needed by the Criterion Renderware renderer in your
windows directory

PLEASE READ beta1.wri for a more fully detailed description of the beta
