This document provides revisions to the SoftSolutions 4.0 for
Windows Document Desktop References, dated 12-14-93 and 3-31-94,
for updating to SoftSolutions 4.1.

>> Document Desktop Files p. 9

Replace the first sentence of the paragraph with:

The following SoftSolutions Document Desktop files are
either found on the CD or diskettes, or are created during
     the installation process.

>> Files Installed to Document Desktop's Programs Directory p. 9

Add the following for DESKTOP.DAC:

The DESKTOP.DAC file must exist in Document Desktop's data
directory (e.g., \DESKDATA) for nonsupervisor users to
access menus on the desktop. If this file is not present in
the data directory, no menu options will be displayed for
the users. If changes are made to the defaults in
DESKTOP.DAC, the DESKTOP.ACC file with those changes is used
in its place. Then, DESKTOP.ACC must also be in the data
     directory.

>> Files Installed to the Subdirectory, SSICONS, of Document
Desktop's Data Directory p. 10

Change "SS30.ICO" in the list to "SS41.ICO."

>> Installing Document Desktop p. 10

Replace the first three steps with the following:

  1. Insert the CD or diskette into the appropriate drive on the
     file server.

  2. From within Windows, choose File|Run.

  3. Type "[CD-ROM or Diskette's Drive Letter]:INSTDESK.EXE" and
     press Enter or choose OK.

        * The INSTALL window is displayed.

(The installation process can be canceled at any time by
     choosing Cancel.)

>> Fundamental Operations: Starting Document Desktop p. 13

Add the following paragraph after the illustration, then delete
the NOTE (which this paragraph replaces):

The Document Desktop program files must be installed by the
system administrator for it to be available to end users.
Then, the FIRST TIME users accesses Document Desktop,
File|Run must be used on their PCs so that the Document
Desktop group and icon can be created as part of an
automatic "New User" routine. The Document Desktop icon
will thereafter be available for easy access. The system
administrator must use the following information to develop
the instructions to be given to each user who will be using
     Document Desktop.

>> Adding a Folder to Document Desktop p. 19

Replace the SoftSolutions COLOR SELECTIONS dialog box with
Microsoft's COLOR dialog box.

>> Max Docs p. 25

The default is 0 (zero), not 1 (one) as stated in the third
sentence.

>> Dataset p. 25

Replace the sentence, "The default is the current dataset." with
"There is no default."

>> Border Width p. 58

Note that the "0" in the last sentence, "The default is 0," is a
ZERO, not a letter.
