This file provides information that became available after the NetWare
FLeX/IP Supervisor's Guide was printed.

This file contains the following sections:
------------------------------------------

1. Installing FLeX/IP 1.2C on a server running NetWare 4.x
2. Installing FLeX/IP 1.2C with the NFS Gateway 1.1
3. Installing FLeX/IP 1.2C on top of FLeX/IP 1.2A
4. Using the INETD.CFG file from previous version of NetWare NFS or FLeX/IP
5. Using XCONSOLE.NLM from a different product
6. Making print queues available

1. Installing FLeX/IP 1.2C on NetWare 4.x

This version of the NetWare FLeX/IP product works with NetWare 4.x, 3.11,
and 3.12. When installed with NetWare 4.x's NDS, this product must run
in Bindery Emulation mode. Please refer to "Installing on a
NetWare 4.0 Server" on Page 2-4 of the NetWare FLeX/IP Supervisor's
   Guide for details.

If you using an existing NetWare FLeX/IP product, please note that
the names of the start and stop NCF files have changed to
   UNISTART and UNISTOP.

When the software is installed on a NetWare 4.x system, the UNISTART.NCF
   file includes the following statement:

       load inetdfix

This load statement is unnecessary, and you can remove it from the
UNISTART.NCF file using the EDIT NLM. If you do not remove the
load statement, the server will report that inetdfix could not be loaded
when UNISTART.NCF is run to start the NFS services. If you see this message,
you can ignore it; removing the load statement from the UNISTART.NCF
file ensures that the error message will not be displayed.

2. Installing FLeX/IP 1.2C with the NetWare NFS Gateway

If you install the NFS Gateway 1.1 product after you install the FLeX/IP
1.2C product, the AUTOEXEC.NCF file will contain the following
two statements: UNISTART and NFSSTART. After you install the
NFS Gateway 1.1 product, you should use the EDIT NLM to edit the
AUTOEXEC.NCF file and remove the NFSSTART statement.

3. Installing FLeX/IP 1.2C on top of FLeX/IP 1.2A

If your server has the FLeX/IP 1.2A product installed, follow these
steps before you install the NetWare FLeX/IP 1.2C product:

   a. Load the NetWare INSTALL NLM.

   b. Select Product Options from the menu.

   c. Highlight the FLeX/IP product entry and press the <Delete> key to
       delete the product.

   d. Follow the installation instructions contained in the NetWare FLeX/IP
Supervisor's Guide to install the NetWare FLeX/IP product.

4. Using the INETD.CFG file from a previous version of FLeX/IP

If you are using a previous version of FLeX/IP and you removed and
reinstalled the product, a blank line was introduced into the INETD.CFG
file. If you attempt to install FLeX/IP 1.2C and the install program
encounters this blank line in the INETD.CFG file, the program will
overwrite the file with the new INETD.CFG file contained on the disk.

If you do not want your current version of the INETD.CFG file to be
overwritten, check the file before you install FLeX/IP 1.2C and
   delete any blank lines.

If you need to remove and reinstall FLeX/IP 1.2C, a blank line will
be introduced into the INETD.CFG file again. Therefore, you must
remember to delete the blank after you reinstall. If you do not delete
this blank line, your FTP service will not load properly.

5. Using XConsole from the NFS Gateway

When FLeX/IP 1.2C is installed on top of the NFS Gateway 1.1, the
XConsole NLM from the FLeX/IP 1.2C product will NOT be installed. The
NFS Gateway's XConsole NLM will remain as the active XConsole. When
the NFS Gateway product is uninstalled the XConsole will remain as
   the active XConsole.

During installation, a file named XCONSOLE.NEW is installed from the
FLeX/IP 1.2C product disk into the system directory. The XCONSOLE.NEW
file is the XConsole module from the FLeX/IP 1.2C product. This file
is installed on the server so that the administrator can manually
rename the XCONSOLE.NEW file to XCONSOLE.NLM if he/she wants to
take advantage of the new security features included with the new
   XConsole module.

6. Making print queues available

Make the following correction on page 6-14 of the NetWare NFS Supervisor's
   Guide.

   The following instruction is incorrect:

     10. Select the Form Type field if it is present and if you want to
choose a different form type for the queue; otherwise, go to Step 14.

   It should read:

     10. Select the Form Type field if it is present and if you want to
choose a different form type for the queue; otherwise, go to Step 13.

The correction changes the reference to "Step 14" so that it reads "Step 13".
