Machines Without DigiBoards
---------------------------
On machines that do not have DigiBoards, the server searches for all physical
ports and displays only those available. With certain hardware configurations,
this may cause problems. If you experience problems, add the following line
to the General section of the ACTMAIL.INI to stop the server from searching
for all physical ports:
[General]
EnumeratePorts=0

Adding Modems to the MODEMS.TXT File
------------------------------------
When adding modems to the MODEMS.TXT file, make sure that the
initialization string does not exceed 74 characters, including carriage returns.

Server Password
---------------
You must set the server password on the machine on which the server
was installed; you cannot set the password from other workstations.

Address List Deletions
----------------------
Address list deletions do not take effect until the address generation program
is run during system maintenance.

Electronic Literature Rack
--------------------------
The submitter name in the Electronic Literature Rack is saved for each
workstation. After you initially enter the name, it is saved and is
automatically filled in from now on.

When editing the Electronic Literature Rack from different workstations,
make sure that the drive mappings are the same. The automatic update
function may not work properly if you use different drive mappings.

Resetting Ports
---------------
The ports are automatically reset after 10 minutes of inactivity. To turn off
this feature, add the following line to the General section of the ACTMAIL.INI:
[General]
AllowAutomaticPortReset=0

Number of File Handles
----------------------
The server requires approximately 20 file handles per port. In a DOS drive
installation, you should change the Files entry in the CONFIG.SYS to
reflect this. For example:
Files = xx (with xx representing the number of handles that your
system needs).
In a Novell network drive installation, you must change either the
SHELL.CFG file or the NET.CFG file, depending on the version of NetWare
workstations shells you are using. In either file, add or update the File
Handles line to read:
File Handles = xx (with xx representing the number of handles that your
system needs).
