1. Installation
============================================================
Recipients computers need to be prepared to receive your Impact
messages. Their copy of Microsoft Mail must be made aware of your
messages, and must have access to several files that allow your messages
to be viewed. The installation program provides two options for
preparing a recipients computer, Setup All Users (AutoSetup), and Setup
Selected Users (Recipient Setup).

AutoSetup allows recipients to automatically be prepared to receive your
Impact messages. With this method, E-Mail IMPACT will attach with every
Impact message you send, an AutoSetup program. This method requires that
Setup copy several files to your postoffice (mail server). With this
option, auto-versioning of E-Mail IMPACT files can be completed each
time a recipient receives an Impact message. This ensures that your
recipients are using the most current version of E-Mail IMPACT to view
your messages. AutoSetup is not recommended for MS Mail environments
that have multiple postoffices because the files needed to complete
AutoSetup may not be available to all your recipients.

Recipient Setup allows you to select those users whom you would like to
prepare to receive Impact messages. With this method, E-Mail IMPACT
will send a one-time Workstation Setup Program (WSP) to each of the
selected users. The WSP contains all of the files necessary to view
Impact messages. The WSP when run by the user, will prepare their
computer to receive your messages. This is the recommended method for
preparing users in a multiple postoffice environment.

Recipient setup can be completed at a later time by selecting the Setup
Recipients menu item in the E-Mail IMPACT menu of Microsoft Mail.

2. Sending Impact Messages to Users on Another Postoffice
============================================================
As mentioned above in Section 1, recipients of your messages need to be
prepared to receive Impact messages. It is recommended that Recipient
Setup be used to setup recipients that reside on a postoffice other than
your own. AutoSetup will fail in preparing recipients that reside on a
postoffice other than your own. If AutoSetup is to be used, a setup
using NETSETUP.EXE must be completed on each of the other postoffices.
Please refer to Section 3.1 for further information on NETSETUP.

3. Printed Documentation Omissions
============================================================
The following discusses features and functionality that were not
included in the printed documentation.

3.1  Setting Up Postoffices - NETSETUP.EXE
------------------------------------------------------------
NETSETUP is setup program that should be used to prepare postoffices to
receive Impact messages. NETSETUP copies several files that are used by
AutoSetup(see section 1 above), to the selected mail server. It can be
run from any workstation that has write access to the directory where
the target postoffice resides.

3.2  Setting Up Recipients
------------------------------------------------------------
Recipients can be prepared to receive Impact messages by using the
Recipient Setup facility. To access this facility select the Recipient
Setup menu item of the E-Mail IMPACT menu in Microsoft Mail. Recipient
Setup can also be accessed from the File menu of the E-Mail IMPACT
Browser.

3.3  Un-Installing E-Mail IMPACT
------------------------------------------------------------
E-Mail IMPACT can be removed from your computer by running the UnInstall
program located in the E-Mail IMPACT program group. An alternate method
for un-installing E-Mail IMPACT is to run SETUP.EXE with the /D command
line option. SETUP.EXE is located on the installation disk and in your
E-Mail IMPACT directory. UnInstall will remove files and configurations
that were added to your local workstation during installation. To
UnInstall files that were copied to your mail server and your local
workstation, run SETUP.EXE with the /DA command line option. This
option should be used with caution as it will affect other users on your
postoffice who have installed E-Mail IMPACT.

3.4 Technical Reference
------------------------------------------------------------
The on-line help file contains detailed information about MSMAIL.INI
settings used by E-Mail IMPACT.

4. Minimizing Message Size
============================================================
Impact messages contain graphics, color and animation. They typically
are larger in size than conventional electronic mail messages. We have
included with E-Mail IMPACT cards that do not noticeably increase the
size of a conventional mail messages in an effort to accommodate network
environments that sustain heavy network traffic. The size of each
Impact message is displayed in its thumbnail description. Users
communicating remotely via modem can select from the collection of
smaller Impact messages.

5. Video Display Drivers
============================================================
A number of Impact messages included with this pack contain graphics
that are best viewed on SuperVGA monitors. If you are running E-Mail
IMPACT on a computer that does not currently support the SuperVGA video
mode a message box will be presented when attempting to view cards
intended for SuperVGA.

6. Microsoft's MAPI DLL & Microsoft Mail
============================================================
E-Mail IMPACT utilizes the services of Microsoft Mail to send and
receive Impact messages. In order for these services to be available,
MAPI.DLL must be present in a directory which is included in your DOS
path statement. With the default installation of Microsoft Windows for
Workgroups and Microsoft Mail, MAPI.DLL is installed in your Windows
SYSTEM directory. E-Mail IMPACT will install and run on workstations
that do not have MAPI.DLL or Microsoft Mail installed, but addressing,
sending, and receiving will be disabled.

7. Support for Microsoft Windows NT Mail Client
============================================================
E-Mail IMPACT does not support the Microsoft Mail client supplied with
Microsoft Windows NT and NTAS. This mail client is a 32 bit application
that utilizes the 32 bit version of MAPI.DLL (MAPI32.DLL).

8. Support for InfoCenter in Windows 95 Beta (Sept. '94)
============================================================
As of the Sept. '94 beta of Windows 95, the MS Mail client included in
InfoCenter does not support custom message types. E-Mail IMPACT uses
custom message types when sending and receiving Impact messages.
