I. Context Sensitive Help

If you have a question about PERSONAL CHEF
while you're operating the program, just
press F1. In most cases, this key opens
the Help system to a topic related to your
location in the program.

--------------------------------------------
II. Default Directory for PERSONAL

During the installation, the setup program
will use CHEFWIN as the default directory,
unless you enter a different location.

If you have PERSONAL CHEF for DOS on your
computer, do NOT install PERSONAL CHEF for
WINDOWS to the same directory as the DOS
program. Your data files may be corrupted.

NOTE: The User's Guide, page 2, incorrectly
states that the default directory is
is PCWIN. It should read "CHEFWIN".

---------------------------------------------
III. Default Database Path

If DIET ANALYST for WINDOWS is on your computer,
you need not customize the database path (as
stated in the User's Guide) in order to access
the DIET ANALYST ingredient database. This is
done for you during the Personal Chef for Windows
setup.

---------------------------------------------

IV. Recipe Placement and Backup

The recipes in the Deluxe version are stored in
five(5) cookbooks. Each cookbook is stored
in a separate set of data files in the CHEFWIN
directory.

The Personal Chef recipes are stored in
the RECIPE.* files.

Holiday recipes are stored in the HOLIDAY.* files.

The High Energy recipes are stored in the
HIGH_CAR.* files.

The Healthy recipes are stored in two cookbooks.
The low fat recipes are stored in the LOW.* files
and the low sodium recipes are stored in the
LOW_SODI.* files.

It is recommened that you create your own
cookbooks and categories to add your recipes.
Recipes can be easily copied from one cookbook
to another.

Personal Chef will use the name of the cookbook
you create for the filenames. For example, if
you create a cookbook named SAM, the recipes
will be stored in the SAM.* files.

To backup the recipes, you need only copy the
"recipe" files as in this example:
	COPY C:\CHEFWIN\SAM.* A:

V. Detection of a Previous Installation

The setup routine will warn you if files from a
previous installation are detected. If you have
created cookbooks using any names as listed in
section IV or if you have made changes to recipes
or the ingredient database, your work might be
overwritten during the installation process. We
suggest you call Technical Support for assistance.
