InterAp Beta-1 Release Notes 12/14/94

Revised 12/14/94 Mark Doolittle
Proposed Beta Testing Schedule:
Beta-1 from 12/14/94 to the end of the year.
Beta-2 from 1/1/95 to 1/15/95
Golden Masters 1/15/95
1.	General Notes
Beta-1 has not been tested on Windows 95 or Windows NT.
Beta-1 does not include a TCP/IP stack, the Winsock's upon which Beta-1 has been tested are: NetManage, Frontier, Microsoft, and Trumpet.
Help is inconsistent or not available throughout Beta-1.
2.	Setup
To begin installation, insert disk 1 and type a:\setup.exe or b:\setup.exe depending on your 3.5" drive designation.
After installation is completed and the InterAp toolbar appears on screen, go to Configuration Options to configure Beta-1.
Configure Beta-1 in the following order:
		- Global Information
		- Mail
3.	Configuration Options
Do not select the Auto Configure button. This feature is designed for automatic registration with an Internet service provider. CSI needs to co-operate with these providers to make this section of the program functional.
4.	InterAp Manager
If you change the icons in the InterAp Manager, they will not match the icons used to show minimized applications.
5.	E-Mail
The Beta-1 version allows user to create mail off-line. The mail tool-bar has been changed to allow dial-up users to create mail without being connected to a mail server.
Beta-1 has a new address book database. Previous versions of InterAp have incompatible data structures with Beta-1. We recommend that you start a new address book.
Both the Import and Export of the Mail Database and Address book are fully functional. It is recommended that these be used before/after installing a new version of InterAp.
The Mail Setup functions: "Delete After N Days" and the "No Automatic Saving" features are not fully functional.
You may want to save your mail list view on exit. This will preserve your favorite view into the database and save you from having to rebuild this view every time you start mail. You can also create multiple "Views" and quickly change views as often as you want.
6.	Address Book
The enter key does not function in the Address Book (select Detail button) Notes folder text edit window.
You may not import an address book database from version #29 to Beta #1.
7.	Web Navigator
Drag and Drop is supported from Web Navigator to Mail only.
Only "coarse printing" of WebNav documents is currently implemented.
8.	NetNews
When selecting text in the NetNews Article view window, scrambling of the selection highlights may occur. To clear this, simply exit the window and reenter.
InterAp's NetNews, supports multiple news servers. However, when a news server is deleted from the list of available servers, any serverXX files for servers higher in the list are not reindexed. This is best described by example:

	Original State:
	news.company.com corresponds to server00 (file)
	news.nbn.com corresponds to server01 (file)
	news.calsoft.com corresponds to server02 (file)
If news.company.com server is deleted from the above list then the following:
	news.nbn.com corresponds to server00 (file)
	news.calsoft.com corresponds to server01 (file)
NetNews will then use the incorrect server information on the next connect.

Posted articles are not able to be threaded on the remote servers at this time.
If an invalid server is selected, you will not be given the opportunity to issue a new server name if the Auto Connect Feature is ON. You will need to go to Configuration Options and select the NetNews button and change this switch to OFF.
	Rot13 functionality is not implemented.
In the Post Article window the Clear All menu option is not implemented
9.	Super FTP
The file structure shown in the left margin is activated with the right mouse click to display the file structures. (This is non-standard and will later be changed to a left mouse click)
The documentation provided with beta #1 is for an earlier version of the program and will not reflect all of the newly added features.
SuperFTP is an OLE2 server. You can drag and drop files between any two FTP sites without bringing the file first to your location. Try connecting to two remote sites and FTPing a file between them.
10. FTP Server
The FTP server is new and only minimally tested.
11.	NetScipts Manager
	No known bugs
12.	Scheduler
Currently, when an alarm message box is issued, no other scheduled processes will take place until the OK button is pressed.
