Installation
============

1. Run Windows and maximize the
	Program Manager.

2. Insert the Page Magic Program
Disk 1 into your floppy disk
	drive.

3. Select Run from the File menu
	of Program Manager. The Run
	dialog is displayed.

4. Enter A:\INSTALL in the
	Command Line box and click
	on OK.

If your floppy disk drive is
	represented by a letter other
	than A:, substitute it
	accordingly in the command
	above.

5. Follow the instructions on
	screen to complete the
	installation. A dialog will
	be displayed for you to
	choose the options that you
want to install. An option is
	selected when the adjacent
	box is checked.

Periodically during the
installation, you will be prompted
to change the program disk in the
floppy disk drive. If you have not
chosen to install all the options,
you may not need each disk.

At the end of the installation, a
program group called NEBS is
created on your Windows desktop.
The Page Magic program icon and
its associated icons are put in
this group.

We hope that you enjoy working
with Page Magic!

Note about Templates
====================

Page Magic reads templates from
two directories. One is
pgmagic\template, the other can be
specified in the 'Preferences'
dialog. If the one specified in
the 'Preferences' dialog is also
pgmagic\template, Page Magic will
then	run slower when accessing the
template manager.

Notes about setting up SHARE.EXE
================================

This version of Page Magic will
not run correctly unless SHARE.EXE
is installed. (SHARE.EXE is
supplied with DOS.) When you
install Page Magic, if SHARE.EXE
cannot be found, a message is
displayed informing you of this.

You must locate SHARE.EXE on your
computer and modify your
AUTOEXEC.BAT file before running
Page Magic.

Follow the steps below to locate
SHARE.EXE and modify your
AUTOEXEC.BAT file:

1. Start the Windows File
	Manager by double-clicking
	the File Manager program icon
	in the Windows Main program
	group.

2. Select Search from the File
	menu. The Search dialog is
	displayed.

3. Enter SHARE.EXE in the
	Search For box.

4. Enter C:\ in the Start From
box. If your hard disk is
	represented by a letter other
	than C, substitute the
	appropriate letter at this
	step.

5. Check the Search All
	Subdirectories check box,
	then click on OK. File
	Manager will search your hard
	disk for SHARE.EXE. When File
	Manager has found SHARE.EXE,
	the file path will be
	displayed in the Search
	Results window. Make a note
	of the path, eg.
	C:\MSDOS\SHARE.EXE, then
press CTRL F4 to close the
	window.

If SHARE.EXE was not found, ensure
that you have searched your entire
hard	disk. For example, if your
hard disk is partitioned into two
or more drives, follow the above
steps for each drive. If SHARE.EXE
is still not found, you must
install it on your computer. Refer
to your DOS documentation for
details of how to do this.

Now follow the steps below to
modify your AUTOEXEC.BAT file:

1. Select Run from the File
	menu. The Run dialog is
	displayed.

2. Enter SYSEDIT in the Command
Line box, then click on OK to
	start the	System
	Configuration Editor.

3. Click in the AUTOEXEC.BAT
window to make it the active
	window, then look for a
	command line containing
	SHARE.EXE.

4. Edit this command line
	to read:-

  C:\PATH\SHARE.EXE /L:500 /F:5100

where PATH is the path you
	noted above.

5. Select Save from the File
menu to save your changes to
	the AUTOEXEC.BAT.

6. Select Exit from the File
	menu to close the System
	Configuration Editor, then
	exit	Windows and restart your
	computer.

When you restart your computer
SHARE.EXE will be loaded and you
will now be able to run
Page Magic.
