WELCOME to CA-Realia II Workbench Version 1.1!

Thank you for purchasing the CA-Realia II Workbench. This release
of the Workbench provides many new features, including the ability to run in a
WIN-OS/2 session under OS/2.

The following text files are copied to your REAL2 directory
during the installation process:

README.TXT - Duplicates the information you are reading now.

OS2INST.TXT - A text file that provides instructions for installing the
Workbench in a WIN-OS/2 environment.

READMORE.WRI - A Windows Write file that displays when you complete
the initial Install and Setup process. This file contains more detail about the installation
and tuning process, and notes about special configurations. Refer to it if you experience
any problems. You can print this file from the Windows Write application.

To view the latest information about the Workbench components
change directory (typically: CD \REAL2) and type REGISTER.
The REGISTER command displays the latest information
about the Workbench and all other installed CA-Realia components.
CA-Realia COBOL and CICS are included with the Workbench so they
are not displayed separately in the registration file.

*************** READ THIS BEFORE YOU INSTALL! *****************

Before you install the Workbench, be aware of the following:

1 - Install SMARTDRV.EXE before installing the Workbench. To do so,
include the following line in your AUTOEXEC.BAT:

    C:\DOS\SMARTDRV.EXE

Loading SMARTDRV speeds the installation process significantly.

2 - Use the Workbench CA-Realia COBOL, CA-Realia CICS and CA-Realia LCM
components instead of any versions of these products that you may have installed.
Remove older CA-Realia COBOL, CICS, and LCM components from the
    PATH statement in your AUTOEXEC.BAT.

3 - If the Workbench is installed on a LAN and you will run the
Workbench from the LAN, select only the Local Workstation component
during the installation on your PC. This component installs the files that must
reside in your the Windows directory on your PC. You must also
point to directory where the Workbench is installed on your LAN.
Make sure that you have this information available before you start
the install program. If not, you can always run the Setup program to point
to the directories where the Workbench files are located.

UPGRADING FROM A PRIOR RELEASE

If you have an earlier version of the Workbench, you can install over the existing files,
or delete all of the files in your Workbench directory:

To install over existing Workbench files:
Reset the attributes of all read-only Workbench files. For example,
the command sequence:

CD\REAL2
ATTRIB -R /S

resets the attributes for all read-only files located in the REAL2 directory
(and all of its subdirectories) to allow these files to be overwritten.
The CA-Realia LCM component marks its CFG files as read-only which, unless reset,
stops the installation process prematurely.

To delete all files in the Workbench directory:
Make a copy of your LCMUSERS.CFG files. Otherwise you must set up all of
your users again. Also, backup any other work files that contain information you
might need. After these backups, delete the entire Workbench directory. (You can use
the Windows File Manager.)
