                    Installing Gina  for Windows
                   ------------------------------

1. Start Windows if it is not already running.

2. Insert the disk labeled Install Disk 1  into the floppy disk drive. 
   (Drive A: is used for illustrative purposes; your disk drive 
   may be B: or another letter)
 
3. From the Windows Program Manager, pull down the File menu and 
   select Run.  In the dialog box that appears, type: A:SETUP and 
   click on the OK button.

4. If you want to install GINA in a different path on your hard disk, 
   type in the new path.  Otherwise, the setup program will create a 
   new directory:  C:\GINA.  When you have indicated the correct path, 
   click on the Continue button


(DO EITHER 5a or 5b:)

5a. If you plan to connect via modem 
    with a dynamic IP address:
    1. Click on the correct modem connection 
       type, 9600 Baud Modem on COM1 through COM8.
    2. Type your connection phone number in space provided.
 
5b. If you plan to connect via network card with a fixed IP address 
    (optional):
    1. Click on the Network Card option
    2. Select a LAN adapter type from the scrollable list by clicking 
       on the appropriate selection.
    3. Optional:  If you are using a fixed IP address, click on the 
       Fixed IP box and input the following information in the spaces 
       provided:
          Fixed IP address
          Gateway IP address
          Name Server ID address

6. When you have finished selecting connection options, click on the 
   Continue button.  The Host Server Information dialog box is displayed.

7. Type the Host Name in the space provided, and then click on the OK button.

8. If you are prompted to insert the second installation disk, do so and then
   click on the OK button.  

9. Re-boot your computer.  

GINA is now ready to use.  Double-click on the GINA icon to start GINA.

   Note:  some high-speed/fax modems require additional modem configuration. 
   If you experience problems, such as the modem not initializing correctly, 
   calling the server but failing to connect, or failing to operate at the 
   correct speed, you may need to make some additional changes to the standard
   settings provided with GINA.  

   Instructions for doing this are provided in Appendix D of the 
   GINA(tm) Users Guide, and in the Readme.1st readme file.
