******* Lotus Notes OCR Service (Version 1.0) **********

In certain rare cases, a file sent to the OCR Service may exceed the specified
TIMEOUT value causing it to "hang". To verify a potential hang problem, type
Show Tasks in the server task window over several time intervals which exceed
the specified TIMEOUT limit. If the words "Processing new OCR" are displayed on
the OCR Service status line well past the timeout threshold, you should suspect
that the OCR Service may be hung. Should this happen, the following tasks
must be performed in order to release the OCR Service from this condition and
guarantee the Notes server is free of any residual effects from the hang. This
will also allow any files that may have queued up in the OCRIN.NSF database behind
the offending file to be processed.

1.) Open the Notes Workstation (on the server console). Open the
OCRIN.NSF database. Select the Main View and remove the first entry from
the OCRIN.NSF database by using the Edit Delete.

2.) Open the Server console full screen session and type quit (or exit).
All tasks should shutdown cleanly except for the OCR task.

3.) Exit from the OCR server via Alt-Esc and then close the Server task.
You will see a message indicating that a process is still running. This message should
be ignored.

4.) Go to the C:\OCR\TMP directory and delete all files (*.PCX and *.TXT).

5.) Perform a desktop shutdown and close all remaining sessions.

6.) Reboot the machine.
