LN:DI Workgroup OCR Option
Release 2.5

This document contains release information for the LN:DI Workgroup
OCR Option, Release 2.5. It contains additional installation information
not included in the LN:DI IPS Administrator's Guide and a description of
known problems in this release.

1. The Workgroup OCR Engine can only return approximately 60 KBytes
of data. The number of document pages that this limit
corresponds to will vary with the amount of text on each page.

This limitation is due to the maximum amount of data that can be stored
in a Notes rich text field.

2. When installing the Workgroup OCR Option, the installation
directory cannot contain any accented characters.

3. If you are using the LN:DI Shared Scanner application and
submitting scanned documents to the IPS for OCR processing,
you must create a User Profile document for the Notes user name used by
the LN:DI Shared Scanner application. The User Profile document must
specify "Yes" in the Return Image field in order for requests to be
processed correctly. The Notes user name is the name associated with
the active Notes ID on the computer running the LN:DI Shared Scanner
application. You create the User Profile document in the LN:DI IPS
   Administration Notes database.

Alternatively, you can set the Return Image field to "Yes" on the
IPS Default User profile document instead of creating a
separate User Profile document for the Shared Scanner. In this
case, the Workgroup OCR Service will return the original image
file(s) for all users unless specified otherwise in a User Profile
document or in a OCR Request.

Refer to the LN:DI IPS Administrator's Guide for details on creating
   and modifying User Profiles.

The Notes user name used by the LN:DI Shared Scanner must have access to
both the OCR Service and the OCR engine(s) that will process the requests.
Access to the OCR Service is specified in the OCR Service Profile document
in the LN:DI IPS Administration database. Access to OCR engines is
specified in the OCR Service Engine Profile document for each OCR engine
in the LN:DI IPS Administration database. Refer to the LN:DI IPS
   Administrator's Guide for details.

4. This item describes steps that must be taken if you are using the
Lotus Notes Incoming Fax Gateway to send incoming fax documents to
   the IPS for OCR processing.

   * Add the IPS as an Optional Service

You must add the IPS as an Optional Service for each DID or DTMF
person record in the FAXADMIN.NSF database.

     - Modify the Person form in the FAXADMIN.NSF database to include
the Notes user name of the IPS as a keyword in the Optional
       Services field.

     - Modify the Person document in the FAXADMIN.NSF database for each
phone number that will send incoming fax documents to the IPS
for OCR processing to specify the IPS as an Optional Service.

Refer to the Lotus Notes Incoming Fax Gateway Administrator's
Guide for details on using Optional Services.

   * Create a User Profile document for the Notes Incoming Fax Gateway.

Create a User Profile document that specifies Yes in the Return
Image field for the Notes user name used by the Notes Incoming
Fax Gateway. The user name is the Full Name specified in the
Person document you created in the Name & Address Book for the
Notes Incoming Fax Gateway (e.g. Fax Services). You create the
User Profile document in the LN:DI IPS Administration Notes database.

Alternatively, you can set the Return Image field to Yes on the
IPS Default User profile document instead of creating a separate
User Profile document for the Notes Incoming Fax Gateway. In this
case, the Workgroup OCR Service will return the original image
file(s) for all users unless specified otherwise in a User Profile
document or in a OCR Request.

Refer to the LN:DI IPS Administrator's Guide for details on creating
     and modifying User Profiles.

   * Create a User Profile document for the LN:DI Incoming Fax Software

If you are using the optional LN:DI Incoming Fax Software, you must
also create a User Profile document for the Notes user name used by
the LN:DI Incoming Fax application. The user name is the Full Name
specified in the Person document you created in the Name & Address
Book for the LN:DI Incoming Fax application
(e.g. Lotus_Notes Document_Imaging). You create the User Profile
document in the LN:DI IPS Administration Notes database.

   * Verify Access to the OCR Service and OCR Engine

The Notes user names used by the Notes Incoming Fax Gateway and
LN:DI Incoming Fax software must have access to both the OCR Service
and the OCR engine(s) that will process the requests. Access to the
OCR Service is specified in the OCR Service Profile document in the
LN:DI IPS Administration database. Access to OCR engines is specified
in the OCR Service Engine Profile document for each OCR engine in the
LN:DI IPS Administration database. Refer to the LN:DI IPS
     Administrator's Guide for details.
