This document describes how to share the MicroLogic Software
Color Clip Art Library between the Windows and DOS versions
of PrinterMaster Gold.

For example, if you have installed the Color Clip Art Library
into your DOS version of PrintMaster Gold, you can configure
the Windows version of PrintMaster to share these pictures
with the DOS version.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

To set up the Windows version of PrintMaster Gold to share
pictures installed for the DOS version, proceed as follows:

  First, determine your "user number".

    1. Run PrintMaster Gold for Windows.

    2. Choose "Network License" from the File menu.

    3. Choose "Current User List" from the License dialog.

    4. The highlighted entry is your user entry. Write down
the number listed on the left side of the entry. This
       number is your "user number".

Next, edit your personal PrintMaster INI file to set the
  PrintMaster picture directory.

    5. Using Notepad or some other text editor, edit your
PrintMaster INI file (do not use a word processing
program such as Word or Write). Your INI file will
always reside in your Windows PrintMaster directory and
will have the name _xxxPMW.INI where you replace "xxx"
with your user number found in steps 1 through 4. For
example, if your user number is 1, then your INI file
       will be named _001PMW.INI

    6. In the [Paths] section of your PrintMaster INI file,
locate the line that begins with the word "PicturePath".
Edit the line and replace the directory path listed to
the right of the "=" with the picture directory of your
DOS PrintMaster Gold. If you installed DOS PrintMaster
Gold in the default directory on the C: drive, then
the picture directory will be C:\PMG\PICTURES\.

Note: Make sure the picture directory ends with a "\".

    7. Save your PrintMaster Gold INI file back to disk.

PrintMaster Gold for Windows will now default to using the
pictures installed for the DOS version.

Warning: Any documents made with PrintMaster Gold for Windows
before the INI file is changed (this includes the
templates shipped with PrintMaster Gold) will continue
to reference the pictures installed with the Windows
version. Deleting the pictures included with the
Windows version of PrintMaster Gold could make these
           documents unusable.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

To set up the DOS version of PrintMaster to share pictures
installed for the Windows version, proceed as follows:

First, determine the name of your configuration file.

    1. Run PrintMaster gold for DOS.

    2. Check the initial PrintMaster copyright screen for
the version of PrintMaster you are running. If the
version number is 1.00.04 or earlier, then the
name of your configuration file is PM.CFG and you
should skip to step 8. If you are running version
1.00.05 or later, then continue on to step 3.

    3. Exit PrintMaster Gold and return to DOS.

    4. Change into the PrintMaster Gold directory, C:\PMG.

    5. Run the PMUSERS program.

    6. Locate your "user name" in the table output by PMUSERS.

       a) If you are running on a Novell network, your user name
will be your network login name.

       b) If you are running on a non-Novell network, then your
user name will be the string assigned to the MLSUSER
          environment variable.

       c) If are not running on a Novell network and you have not
set an MLSUSER environment variable, then your user name
will be "Unknown". This is the normal case when you are
using PrintMaster Gold on a non-networked computer.

    7. Write down the user number listed to the left of your
user name. Your PrintMaster configuration file will be
named _xxxPM.CFG where "xxx" is replaced by your user
number determined in steps 3 through 6. For example, if
your user number is 1, then your configuration file will
       be named _001PM.CFG.

Next, edit your PrintMaster configuration file to set the
  PrintMaster picture directory.

    8. Use a text editor like DOS's EDIT or EDLIN to edit the
configuration file (do not use a word processing program
       like Word or WordPerfect).

    9. Locate the line that begins with "GraphicsLibraryPath"
(usually the 4th line). Edit the line and replace the
directory path to the right of "GraphicsLibraryPath"
with the picture directory of your Windows PrintMaster
Gold. If you installed Windows PrintMaster Gold in the
default directory on the C: drive, then the picture
       directory will be C:\PMW\PICTURES\.

Note: Make sure the picture directory ends with a "\".

   10. Save your PrintMaster Gold configuration file back to disk.

PrintMaster Gold for DOS will now default to using the
pictures installed for the Windows version.

Warning: Any documents made with PrintMaster Gold for DOS
before the configuration file is changed (this
includes the templates shipped with PrintMaster Gold)
will continue to reference the pictures installed
with the DOS version. Deleting the pictures included
with the DOS version of PrintMaster Gold could make
           these documents unusable.
