Linking a Report to a Questionnaire File
While working with a survey report, you can
link it to the original questionnaire from
which the data came, using a simple menu
procedure. This will allow SurveyMaker to
look up the the text of the multiple-choice
options in the questionnaire file and include
them in the itemized report view. The printed
itemized report will also include them, as
well as the full text of the questions.

Whenever you have a report loaded and the
function key menu titles are visible, you can
hit the F2 key and take the option to link the
report file to the original questionnaire
file. Supply the file name for the
questionnaire and SurveyMaker will open that
file and look up the text it needs.

With the itemized version of the linked
report, you get a full-page printout for each
question item, that stands alone and is self-
explanatory. The reader can see the
frequencies of the various options, the mean,
standard deviation, non-response counts, and a
simple bar-chart comparison of options.

You can un-link the report from the
questionnaire file by using the same menu
procedure and choosing the un-link option.
