Fixing Printer or Margin Problems
You may find it necessary to adjust the margin
settings for your printer to make sure all of
your reports come out properly.

Some printers, particularly laser printers,
may cause margin problems if you set the page
length too long. Many laser printers are not
capable of printing to the very top or bottom
of the page. Consequently, if you set your
page length too long, the printer may eject
the page before the program instructs it to.
This can cause a few leftover lines to be
printed at the top of the next page, followed
by the regular page eject, leaving the rest of
the page blank.

To solve the problem, try specifying a page
length a few lines shorter than the actual
paper you are using. Similarly, if the
printed line breaks and "folds over" to the
next line, try making the margins a bit
smaller so SurveyMaker will lengthen the
overall printed line.

When you set your printer margins for a
report, SurveyMaker allows you to specify the
length and width of the paper you're using, as
well as the top, bottom, left, and right
margins. The default margins set when
SurveyMaker starts up are usually correct for
printing all possible reports you will have.
You can change them if you like and save the
changes to disk as the new default settings.

SurveyMaker allocates at least 50 printed
lines for its reports, and each printed line
must be at least 60 characters wide. You can
increase these settings but not decrease them.
