>>> UPGRADING FROM A PREVIOUS RELEASE OF INFINITE DISK

	Install this version into the same directory as your old version.
	The install utility will automatically detect and utilize your
	current migration settings -- and, install will make a backup copy
	of your old release into the \infinite\backup directory.

	ENHANCEMENTS OVER VERSION 2.0:

	- INSTALL
		Completely revised installation utility.

	- WINDOWS
		Vastly improved Scheduler.
		Improved Idsync options.
		Ability to sort displayed files by:
			Name, Extension, Creation Date,
			Access Date, Size, or Migration Level
		New configuration facility.
		Column headings in IDWIN.
		Compatible with XCOPY & PKZIP. (Icopy no longer required)
		PEPPER.BMP Windows Wallpaper provided.
		New program ICONS (old ones still available under
		"properties")

	- DOS
		Recall all files from a single L2 volume.

>>>     CRITICAL SYSTEM FILES

	Certain system files must be present when booting your machine.
	These files are automatically marked as non-migratable by the
	PROTECT /C function together with the device driver IDDRV.SYS
	that is loaded in CONFIG.SYS. The IDDRV.SYS statement must be
	the first line in your config.sys. Do not remove these statements!
	Critical system files may be migrated as a result.

	There are files that we automatically mark as non-migratable.
	The complete list of files is in the manual if you want to know
	which ones they are. They will never be allowed to be migrated.

	If you do encounter the problem where your machine will not start-up
	due to migrated system files - DO NOT PANIC!! Reboot your machine
	from a DOS boot diskette and then issue the recall command for the
	needed file(s).

	Example:       C:\INFINITE\RECALL system.fil

	If you are unsure...call for support at (404) 339-1812.

>>>     EMERGENCY DOS BOOT DISKETTE

	It is always a good idea to keep a bootable floppy diskette handy
	at all times. Infinite Disk will not ordinarily migrate files
	which are needed to reboot your system, however, it is possible
	for a determined individual to override these failsafes and migrate
	a critical file. In such a case, you would need a bootable diskette
	to restart your system.

	To create a bootable diskette, you need a blank formatted diskette
	for your "A" drive. Use the DOS format command (FORMAT A: /S)
	to create the boot diskette. To test the disk, insert in the
	"A" drive and reboot. You should be prompted for date and time
	and then come to an A prompt.

>>> EMERGENCY DOS BOOT DISKETTE FOR SUPERSTOR USERS

	Follow the above directions for creating a DOS boot diskette.
	Also copy your config.sys to the diskette. Now edit the copy
	you made on the diskette and delete all lines except for the
	superstor driver line. You should end up with a one line
	config.sys that looks like the following example:

	DEVICE=C:\SSTORDRV.SYS

	That's all there is to it.

>>>     COMPRESSION UTILITIES

	Infinite Disk is the perfect compliment to any compression
	product. Even though you have already doubled your disk space,
	Infinite Disk will provide substantially more space by archiving
	un-needed files.

	Generally, you will not see any improvement in compression with
	Infinite Disk as files are migrated to level 1 (compressed in
	place).

	Recommendation : On drives which are compressed -- Set level 1
	days and level 2 days to the same value.

	DOS 6 DOUBLESPACE USERS

	There are no special considerations or requirements for
	compatibility with Infinite Disk.

	STACKER - DOUBLE DISK - SUPERSTOR - ETC... USERS

	Follow the simple procedures outlined below:

	1. DO NOT MANAGE THE UNCOMPRESSED DRIVE IF THE ONLY FILES
		STORED ON THAT DRIVE ARE FOR SYSTEM STARTUP.

	2. Move the line with IDDRV.SYS, that we inserted into your
		CONFIG.SYS, to follow the line that performs the drive
		letter swap. (This does not apply to Stacker 3.1 or any
		other utility that swaps before the config.sys is
		activated.)

	If you are unsure...call for support at (404) 339-1812.

>>>     386MAX VERSION 7

	If your using version 7 of 386MAX and you're using extrados,
	you need to complete the following change each time you
	maximize;

		From your 386MAX directory, edit a file named
		extrados.pro. One of the parameters will be: F=xxxx,z
		Change the number that follows the comma to 0 (zero)
		and reboot your system. If you do not make the above
		change -- your files may not automatically recall when
		you are in Windows.

>>>     DISKVIEW

	While executing DiskView, if your managed drive(s) are not listed
	for selection:

		1) Return to the Infinite Disk group under windows.
		2) Click once (or select) DISKVIEW
		3) Select the FILE option and the PROPERTIES sub-option
		   from the top left of your screen.
		4) Place a /M at the end of the existing program name.

		   Example:
		   C:\INFINITE\DISKVIEW.EXE /M

	While executing DiskView, if the graphs you wish to display are not
	"selectable", be sure to first select a drive under the file option
	of the main menu.

>>> Central Point Software / PCTOOLS

	Central Point Software's PCTOOLS has a utility named DISKFIX which
	is used to detect and correct hard drive and directory problems.
	As a whole, PCTOOLS is an excellent utility product and is highly
	recommended. However, Infinite Disk and DISKFIX are not compatible.

	Central Point Software may be working on a fix to this problem, but
	no delivery date has been provided. If you contact Central Point,
	perhaps they will take this problem seriously. Depending on whom
	you speak to at Central Point, you may be told that our product
	violates some "rules of integrity". This is not the case -- and in
	fact Central Point utilizes precisely the same DOS facilities as
	Chili Pepper -- This is the very cause of the conflict.

	THE BOTTOM LINE --- Chili Pepper will resolve this problem in
	version 3.0 of Infinite Disk (scheduled for summer release of 94).
	We appreciate your patience as we engineer a solution to someone
	else's problem. In the mean time, we are completely compatible with
	CHKDSK, Norton Disk Doctor, SPINRITE, and every other disk utility
	on the planet.

	P.S. If you accidentally attempt to run DISKFIX on a drive managed
	     by Infinite Disk -- A warning message will be issued and
	     DISKFIX will not be executed.
