INTRODUCTION
------------

Welcome to RALLY! for AS/400. Using a variety of connection
options, RALLY! gives you easy access to an IBM AS/400 computer
from your Windows desktop.

This evaluation copy of RALLY! for AS/400 is fully functional.
You may install it for use with the NS Router or PC Support router,
or TN5250 for use with TCP/IP. Because it is fully functional, you
may explore all the features of RALLY! in your own environment.

This evaluation software will function normally for a 30 day

INSTALLATION GUIDELINES
------------------------------------

RALLY! for AS/400 requires Windows 3.1 or above.

We do not recommend EGA screen resolution for this product.

We suggest that you temporarily turn off any anti-virus software
that you may be running before installing RALLY! This lets you
avoid some of the warning messages you may encounter as the Setup
program writes new executable files to your hard disk. Be sure to
turn on your anti-virus software again after RALLY! is installed.
See your anti-virus software documentation for instructions on
turning the anti-virus software on and off.

If you are installing over a previous version of RALLY! for
the AS/400, please be aware of the following:

The installation process automatically copies the files
that contain your previous version's session preferences.
Session customization files in the installed directory
(typically C:\EW400\USER) are copied to a new directory,
such as C:\EW400\USEROLD. The session customization
files are then overwritten with new information.

Session customization files exist in the installed
directory (default is C:\EW400\USER) as keyboard files,
keyboard macros, color attributes, and session settings.
The files that are saved and overwritten are:

	COLR.ATT - color attribute table
	MONO.ATT - monochrome attribute table
	KB101.xx - 101-key keyboard file
	KB83.xx - 83-key keyboard file
	SMARTPAD.INI - SmartPad layout
EW400.INI - display and printer session settings
	DSPMSG.RCD - sample keyboard macro
	SIGNOFF.RCD - sample keyboard macro

These files are all stored in ASCII format.

You can use an editor (such as the DOS editor) to copy
portions of the previous customization files from USEROLD
to the new files in the USER directory. If you do not
want to save any of your previous version's customization
files, you can safely delete the entire USEROLD directory.

------------------------------------
TN5250 - GENERAL GUIDELINES
------------------------------------

This version of RALLY! for AS/400 supports Telnet. To start a
RALLY! session using a TN5250 connection, a compatible TCP/IP
stack must be loaded on your workstation. You can use any
Windows socket (WINSOCK) 1.1 compliant stack. The RALLY! for
AS/400 package includes a coupon for Novell's LAN Workplace for
DOS TCP/IP transport stack. Please refer to your documentation for
instructions on loading other stacks.

NOTE: When using RALLY! with a TCP/IP connection, file transfer
and printer emulation are not supported.

Setup instructions for LAN Workplace and TN5250
-----------------------------------------------
If you plan to use Novell's LAN Workplace stack, make sure you have
an IP address available for your workstation before beginning the
installation process. If you are not using the Novell stack, or if
it is already installed, skip to step 3.

NOTE: The installation program for LAN Workplace modifies your
AUTOEXEC.BAT, CONFIG.SYS, NET.CFG, and SYSTEM.INI files if you
answer YES at the "update system files automatically" prompt. Make
note of where the installation program backs up these files. You
can also back up the files yourself before starting the installion
program.

1. Insert the Novell LAN Workplace disk 1 into your floppy drive.
From the DOS prompt, type x:install (where x is the letter of
your floppy drive). Answer the questions that the installation
program asks. It is generally safe to accept the default values.

Have your IP address ready (as well as your subnet and router
   addresses, if applicable).

NOTE: If you are using a host table, you can simply fill in the
host name or alias in place of the IP address. See the next
section, "Creating a Host Table," for more information.

2. Once the installation is complete, a message appears verifying
that the software has been properly installed. You can test
TCP/IP using the PING command (PING host IP address). For
   example:

	"PING 149.84.31.5".

   The reply should be:

	"149.84.31.5 is alive"

3. Start RALLY! by clicking on the RALLY! for AS/400 icon in the
RALLY! for AS/400 program group. You can also launch RALLY!
from the Configurator application, which you can access by
   clicking on the Configurator icon.

4. When you configure a session, you must fill in the IP address
of the AS/400 host in the Address field of the Host Name dialog
box. Use the standard IP address format xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx.
   For example:

	"149.84.31.5"

Creating a Host Table
-----------------------------------------------
Host tables let you to refer to systems by short names or aliases
instead of their numeric IP address. Lan Workplace, for example,
creates a sample table when you install the software (located in
C:\NET\TCP). You may also create a new host table. A host table
contains the IP addresses followed by a space, then a system name,
then an alias or aliases. Most Windows-based stacks have host table
dialogs built in.

Troubleshooting TN5250
-----------------------------------------------
If you are having difficulty establishing a connection with TN5250:

Make sure you have loaded the correct Windows or DOS device drivers
for the TCP/IP stack you are using.

As described above, try to PING your host after successfully
installing and loading a TCP/IP stack. If you cannot PING the host,
then the problem is either with loading the stack, or the connection
to the host.

Make sure that the TCP/IP address is correctly entered.

If you use a short name or alias, make sure they are defined in the
host table.

Make sure you are using a compatible TCP/IP stack. The TN5250
software is compatible with the following TCP/IP stacks:

	Novell LAN workplace version 4.12
Netmanage Chameleon and NFS version 3.11 and above
Windows for Workgroups TCP/IP version 3.11
LANmanager version 2.2 (LANmanager requires the latest
			winsock.dll files from Microsoft)
	Wollongong Pathways version 2.1.1
	Sun NFS version 5.0
	FTP version 2.3

------------------------------------
NS/ROUTER - GENERAL GUIDELINES
------------------------------------

This version of RALLY! for AS/400 contains NS/Router programs.
You must configure and start the NS/Router before you attempt to
connect to the AS/400.

Please note that PC Support/400 must be installed on the AS/400
if you will be running RALLY! File Transfer, or using any advanced
APIs, such as ODBC.

This version of RALLY! for AS/400 contains support for NS/Router
virtual device drivers. In most cases you do not need to load a
DOS TSR program before starting the router. See the following
sections for a description of how to change your SYSTEM.INI file
for virtual drivers.

After the NS/Router is installed, make sure the following files are
in the RALLY! program directory:

	EHNAPPC.DLL
	EHNRTRW.DLL
	VNS8022.386
	VNSAINTD.386

The following lines should appear in the 386ENH section of the
SYSTEM.INI file in the WINDOWS directory:

	DEVICE=C:\RALLY!\VNS8022.386
	DEVICE=C:\RALLY!\VNSAINTD.386

Note: If running in Windows Standard Mode, you will need to remove
the above drivers and load the DOS TSRs located in the directory
C:\RALLY!\NSROUTER. See the "NS/Router-Configuration and
Troubleshooting Guide."

To start both the NS/Router and RALLY! automatically, make sure your
userid and password are included under preferences in the NS/Router
configurator. Add the name of the .RTR file you wish to start to
the NS/Router icon properties command line after the start command.
Place the NS/Router icon before the RALLY! icon in your Windows
startup box. The RALLY! sessions will not connect until the router
has started.

------------------------------------
PC SUPPORT/400 - GENERAL GUIDELINES
------------------------------------

You must have PC Support/400 installed on your AS/400 and on your
PC if you are not using the NS/Router.

IBM requires that the MS Windows compatibility program, PCSWIN, is
installed on your PC. PCSWIN enables PC Support/400 functions to
work correctly with Microsoft Windows.

PCSWIN is included with PC Support/400 and can be copied to your
PC from a shared folder on the AS/400:

If you are using OS/400 Version 1 Release 3.0, then you
must have PTF LF70676 loaded, or Version 2 Release 1.0,
which provides PCSWIN.COM in the QIWSFLR folder.

If you are using OS/400 Version 2 Release 1.1 or 2.0,
PCSWIN.EXE is provided in the QIWSFL2 folder with the
	standard (PID) distribution tapes.

To install PCSWIN on your PC, run the PC Support/400 configuration
program CFGPCS.EXE, and set the Windows option to YES. If you are
using a version of PC Support earlier than V2R2, you must copy the
PCSWIN program from the QIWSFLR folder on the AS400.

The PCSWIN program should be loaded after the PC Support/400 router
program STARTRTR.EXE. CFGPCS creates the batch file STARTPCS.BAT
to start these programs in the correct order.

You can run RALLY! concurrently with PC Support/400 functions,
including virtual printer and shared folders. However, it is not
necessary to load these functions in order to use RALLY! for
AS/400.

---------------------------------------
CHANGING ROUTERS
---------------------------------------

For more information, refer to the NS/Router-Configuration and
Troubleshooting Guide, under Setup and Installation.

---------------------------------------
TOKEN RING GUIDELINES
---------------------------------------

You can use Token-Ring to connect to both a mainframe and an AS/400
using the two Attachmate Windows products: EXTRA! for 3270, and
RALLY! for AS/400. Note that if you want to use both Windows
products, you must change the Local Area Network settings using the
NS Configurator program when you configure the router.

* For the 3270 version of EXTRA! for Windows, change the following
   Local Area Network setting:

	- IBM Token-Ring Source SAP
Default is 04 for both NS/Router and EXTRA! for Windows.
Change the NS/Router's Source SAP to another SAP that is
available for SNA. Note that the AS/400 must be configured
for the same SAP. The available SAPs are listed in the
Token-Ring line description on the AS/400.

* If you are using a Madge Token-Ring board, perform the following
   steps:

	1. Replace the IBM LAN Support Program drivers (DXMC0MOD.SYS
and DXMA0MOD.SYS) with the SMARTLSP driver included with
	   your Madge board.

	2. Change the default I/O address for the Madge board (0A20)
	   to the IBM-supported range--either 2A20 or 3A20. (Switch
settings 1 and 2 on the board must be off.)

	3. If you are using DOS 5.0, specify the low memory option
	   in your CONFIG.SYS file.

--------------------
PRODUCT ENHANCEMENTS
--------------------

* WinHLLAPI Support has been added as an option. Documentation is
available upon request, at no charge. Executable support for
WinHLLAPI is included on product distribution disks. Sample code
in both the C and Visual Basic languages is included on the
distribution disk under samples.api. To run the WinHLLAPI
samples it is necessary to add the directory where AHLLAPI.DLL
is located to the path. By default AHLLAPI.DLL is located in
the \RALLY! directory. It is also necessary to add the following
line to the Display section of the EW400.INI file:

	EHLLAPISname=x

where x corresponds to the appropriate display session window,
A to Z. See the sample file (EW400.INI) in the SAMPLES.API
   directory for an example.

------------------------------
RALLY! TEXT ASSIST
------------------------------

RALLY! for AS/400 version 1.0 includes full function word-processing
capability for OfficeVision/400 documents and notes. It provides
text editing functions equivalent to a twinax-attached IBM 3487
terminal.

Additional keyboard functions have been added to support RALLY!
Text Assist. The new keyboard functions have been added to display
sessions in the areas of:

     Default keyboard layouts
     Keyboard Remapper program options
     Find Key option
     Hotspots options
     Customize SmartPad options

The new RALLY! Text Assist keyboard functions are shown in the
following list. These functions are quick and convenient short-
cuts to OfficeVision/400 text instruction menus. For example,
you can begin highlighting either by pressing the 'Bold highlight'
key, or by typing F5=Goto and 'bb' and Enter.

The new RALLY! Text Assist functions are:

Beginning of line Next stop code
     Bold highlight Page end
Bottom of page Required carrier return
     Carrier return Required space
     Center text Required tab
     End bold/underline Stop code
End of line Top of page
     Half index down Underline
     Half index up Word underline
     Insert symbol

The Show Attributes option has been enhanced to show the highlight
control codes in Text Assist. Use this option to easily see
exactly where your Begin Bold and other commands occur.

Before you can use RALLY! Text Assist, you need to select the
appropriate options on both the AS/400 and the PC.

-------------------------------
AS/400 ODBC DRIVER ENHANCEMENTS
-------------------------------

Enhancements to EHNODBC.DLL
---------------------
There has been an update to EHNODBC.DLL which now allows more than
10 connections.

Owner Equal Library Mode
------------------------
This is an addition to the ODBC Driver Setup dialog box. This option
allows you to specify the use of the owner name instead of the
library name for qualifying the table name. It is used for
applications such as Microsoft Access. By default, this field is
selected. However, for most ODBC programs, it is recommended that
you de-select this option.

SYS/SQL Naming Convention Option
--------------------------------
By default, the *SYS option naming convention is selected. If the
option *SYS is selected, the file name will be used in the
data source triplet (LIBRARY/OWNER/FILENAME). If the option *SQL
is selected, the table name will be used in the data source
triplet (LIBRARY/OWNER/TABLENAME). For most ODBC programs,
it is recommended that you chose the *SQL option.

Placement of ODBC DLLs
----------------------
The EHNODBC.DLL and the ODBC.DLL must be located in your path. It
is recommended that you copy them from the RALLY!\ODBC
subdirectory to the WINDOWS\SYSTEM subdirectory.

------------------------------
PRINTER EMULATION NOTES
------------------------------

In general the printer emulation support will use the print file
settings of the AS/400 if Page Orientation and CPI is set to HOST.
The AS/400 setting may be overridden by selecting options other
than HOST for page orientation and CPI.

Default Page Settings are as follows:

	Page Orientation: HOST
	CPI: HOST
	Use Scalable Fonts: Unchecked

------------------------------
COLUMN SEPARATORS
------------------------------

The following is for JD Edwards customers, or others using
applications with column separators.

The default column separator used by RALLY! is a small bullet. If
this is not acceptable, the default column separator may be changed
either by modifying JD Edwards setup, or by adding a line to the
EW400.INI file.

To modify the column separator using JD Edwards setup:

Within the setup program for JD Edwards software there is a
Video Color Palette Option. By default, it is set to "2" for
JDE color standards. For use with RALLY!, the color standards
should be set to "1" for IBM SAA color standards.

Alternatively, to modify the column separator in RALLY!:

To change the default column separator character, use a plain
text editor (eg. notepad) to add a line in the section titled
   [Display] as follows:

	ColumnSepChar=32

The "column separator character" can be set to any attribute
value from 1 to 255. The default value is 183, which displays
a small bullet character. The value 144 displays a shaded
rectangle, which is unobtrusive. The value 32 represents a
blank, and in effect pre-fills blanks into all column separator
   fields sent by the AS/400.

The value 32 is useful for those AS/400 applications that employ
the column separator attribute in areas other than input fields.

Disabling the NS/Router Trace Option
------------------------------------
To disable the Trace option on both the NS/Router Status bar and
the File: Diagnostics menu, locate the [E400RTR] section header of
the router file and modify the following keyword:

   DisableTrace=1

To reinstate the Trace option, change the 1 back to a zero (0).

Save the modified Router file (.RTR)

Bypassing the "Close NS/Router" Dialog Box
------------------------------------------
The NS/Router, by default, displays a "Close NS/Router" dialog box
when you attempt to close the router when there are still active
connections to AS/400 systems. You must respond to this dialog by
choosing either OK or Cancel.

If you want to bypass the "Close NS/Router" dialog box, locate the
[E400RTR] section header of the router file and modify the
following keyword:

   HardClose=1

Save the modified Router (.RTR) file.

Using the Novell Login User ID as PC Location Name with Elite/400
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Gateway Link
------------
If you are using the Elite/400 GW as your physical link and the
IPX/SPX workstation to gateway link, you can elect to use the
first eight characters of the NetWare Login User ID as the Location
Name in the PC Information group box on the main NS/Router
Configurator screen. NOTE: The first character of the NetWare
User ID must be a letter.

Using the Novell Login User ID as the PC Location Name with NetWare

-------
If you are using the NetWare for SAA as your physical link and you
are using the IPX/SPX transport protocol, you can elect to use the
first eight characters of the NetWare Login User ID as the Location
Name in the PC Information group box on the main NS/Router
Configurator screen. NOTE: The first character of the NetWare
User ID must be a letter.

-----------------------------
DIRECTORY STRUCTURE AND FILES
-----------------------------

The Router Setup program creates a default directory structure for
all the files as indicated below. This is the default directory
structure; your directory structure may vary depending upon the
installation paths you have selected.

C:\RALLY!\NSROUTER (contains all the NS/Router and NS/Router
		    Configurator files)

-----------------------
MAXDATA DEFAULT CHANGED
-----------------------
The MAXDATA default in the NS/Router Configurator has been changed
from 1929 to 1033. Router Configuration files that were created
using Elite/400 version 3.1 or earlier should be changed to reflect
the new default value of 1033. Otherwise, unpredictable results may
be encountered.

--------------------------------------
PC SUPPORT V2R3 AND NET ID RECOGNITION
--------------------------------------

If you have used Version 2 Release 3 of the PC Support install
program to configure single or multiple PUs definitions and no
Net IDs were specified for AS/400 systems, PC Support assumes they
are blank and issues the blank Net ID when the PCS router is
started. However, when NS/Router configurator imports this blank
Net ID condition, NS/Router assumes the Net IDs are "APPN" and may
not work until you change the following lines in your NS/Router
configuration file (*.RTR) under each and every [PartnerLUn]
section (where n is a number) as follows:

Change:

PartLUNetName=APPN

To:

PartLUNetName=

If you do not change these lines, you may receive an error status
code (1500-0003-00000004) and you will not be able to make a
successful connection.

If you are connecting two different AS/400s on two different
networks you must list the network name under each [PartnerLUn]
section. The following example uses an AS/400 system named NS400B10
ont NET1 and AS/400 system named NS400F10 on NET2:

[PartnerLUn]
PartLUAlias=NS400B10
PartLUNetName=NET1

[PartnerLUn]
PartLUAlias=NS400F10
PartLUNetName=NET2

-------------------------
MULTIPLE 802.2 PU SUPPORT
-------------------------

The maximum 802.2 connections (link stations) is dependent upon the
MAXDATA size specified in the Router Configuration file that you
are using.

If MAXDATA is configured for less than 1033, the maximum number
of PUs that can be supported is 10.
If MAXDATA is configured for 1033 or greater, the maximum number
of PUs that can be supported is 6.

If you are using the VNS8022.386, 802.2 Virtual device driver
-------------------------------------------------------------
The number of link stations that you specified in the Router
Configuration file must also be specified in the SYSTEM.INI file
by typing the following lines under the [VNS8022.386] heading:

	Maxdata=nnnn
	MaxLinkStation=#

where nnnn must be equal to or greater than the MAXDATA value that
you configured in the Router Configurator in the 802.2 LLC Link
Driver Advanced Options dialog box (default 1033). If nnnn is not
specified, the default value of 1033 is used.

where # is the number of link stations. This number must be greater
than or equal to the number of link stations you specified in the
Router Configuration file. If MAXDATA is configured for less than
1033, the maximum number of PUs that can be supported is 10. If
MAXDATA is configured for 1033 or greater, the maximum number of
PUs that can be supported is 6. If # is not specified, the default
value of 1 is used.

Also see the NOTE ON ENVIRONMENT SETTINGS section.

If you are using the NS8022.EXE, 802.2 TSR
------------------------------------------
The number of link stations that you specified in the Router
Configuration file must alaso be specified on the DOS command
line when you load the TSR.
For example:

	NS8022 maxdata=nnnn L=#

Where nnnn must be equal to or greater than the MAXDATA value that
you configured in the Router Configurator in the 802.2 LLC Link
Driver Advanced Options dialog box (default 1033). If nnnn is not
specified, the default value of 1033 is used.

Where # is a number that is equal to or greater than the number of
link stations (PUs) that you will be using as defined in your
router configuration file. If MAXDATA is configured for less than
1033, the maximum number of PUs that can be supported is 10. If
MAXDATA is configured for 1033 or greater, the maximum number of
PUs that can be supported is 6. If # is not specified, the default
value of 1 is used.

Note on Environment Settings
----------------------------
You must also set up the correct environment for the extra link
stations that you have added:

Examples for a few of the most common environments are provided
below. Refer to your Network documentation for complete details.

IBM LAN Support Program
If you are using the IBM LAN Support Program, you must add the
necessary parameters to the appropriate driver in your CONFIG.SYS
file. The affected driver is the DXMT0MOD.SYS. The extra stations
parameter (EST=nn) must be equal to or greater than the number of
link stations (PUs) that you configure in your router configuration
file. Additionally, if you are using another application that
requires a SAP, you might also need to modify the extra SAPs
parameter (ES=nn) for an additional SAP. Refer to your IBM LAN
Support Network documentation for detailed information.

Novell NetWare Shells
If you are using the Novell NetWare Shell program IPXODI, you must
modify the shell program configuration file NET.CFG. Under the
LANSUP section modify the "Stations nn" line so that nn is a number
equal to or greater than the number of link stations (PUs) that you
configure in your router configuration file. Additionally, if you
are using another application that requires a SAP, you might also
need to modify the extra SAPs nn parameter for an additional SAP.
Refer to your Novell NetWare documentation for detailed
information.

Microsoft DLC for Windows for Workgroups
If you are using Microsoft DLC for Windows for Workgroups
configuration program, the default settings for SAPS (3) and
Stations (20) (located on the Microsoft DLC Configuration dialog
box in the Advanced Protocol Settings group box) will normally
work, but if you must change the number of stations, remember that
you need 1 station per PU in addition to the other stations used
by your network (usually 2). Refer to the Windows for Workgroups
Resource Kit for detailed information.

--------------------------------------------------------------
MICROSOFT DLC FOR WINDOWS FOR WORKGROUPS CONFIGURATION PROGRAM
--------------------------------------------------------------

The NS/Router Configuration 802.2 Destination Adapter address
defaults to a non-reversed 802.2 address (as opposed to an
Ethernet bit-reversed address).

If you use an Ethernet adapter to attach to your network, you can
have the NS/Router Configurator convert your adapter address so
that it will be properly recognized by your network by selecting
the Use Converted Address check box on the Add 802.2 LLC
Destination Adapter screen. This conversion may be necessary
because the address transmitted will be bit reversed before it is
received.

If you are using the Microsoft DLC for Windows for Workgroups
configuration program you do not need to use a converted address
because the Swap protocol parameter, which is enabled by default,
performs bit-swapping when Microsoft DLC is bound to an Ethernet
driver.

---------------------------------------------
ELITE/400 LAN GATEWAY MAXDATA MUST EQUAL 1033
---------------------------------------------

The Elite/400 LAN Gateway link MAXDATA defaults to 1929 and the
NS/Router configurator MAXDATA defaults to 1033. This can cause
several problems such as: when a long frame is sent to the AS/400
it will be truncated, when a shared folder file is copied error
messages will be encountered and the workstation link will be
dropped, when file transfer upload operations are attempted error
messages will be generated (e.g., function=06, return code=5400,
operating system error, etc.).

To resolve this conflict, you must change the Elite/400 LAN Gateway
MAXDATA from the default 1929 to 1033 on the command line in the
Elite/400 Gateway batch file that is created when you exit the
configuration program. The command line used in the example below
would be used for an 802.2 link:

L8XGX /3 RX_MAXDATA=1033 TX_MAXDATA=1033

For details, refer to your Elite/400 LAN Gateway manual.

Additionally, certain adapter and IPX settings on the Elite/400
Gateway can create problems when file transfer upload and shared
folders copy operations are attempted. The cause of these problems
is that the Gateway TR adapter is opened by IPX with a default MAX
frame size of 1144 causing the Gateway link to the AS/400 to be
dropped and reestablished and issuing various generic error
messages. The following solutions should be implemented.

If the Elite/400 Gateway to AS/400 link is 802.2 token ring, IBM
LAN Support Program or equivalent must be used. The token ring
adapter must be opened with a transmit MAXDATA size of at least
1929. This can be achieved by performing the following steps:

1. If the IBM LAN support program NetBIOS driver DXMT0MOD.SYS the
following should be specified in the CONFIG.SYS file:

    DXMT0MOD.SYS DS=1944 EST=Y ES=Y ST=? S=? C=? N=?

where "?" values can be found in your NetSoft GCP User's Guide,
depending on the number of workstations supportedl; Y is 1 if
IPX is not used and 2 if IPX is used.

2. If DXMT0MOD.SYS is not used and IPX is used to open the
    adapter, you must specify:

    IPX o,tbz=2048

or for ODI IPX driver in the NET.CFG:

    Link Driver LANSUP
      MAX FRAME SIZE 2048

Additionally, the controller description on the AS/400 must be
set to:

SWITCHED DISCONNECT=*NO

for both SDLC and token ring connections; otherwise, the AS/400
will periodically drop the link to the gateway if there are no
outstanding sessions with any workstation.

---------------------------------------
TWINAX LINK RcvPacingLimit MUST EQUAL 1
---------------------------------------

If you created a router configuration file (*.RTR) with version
4.01 or earlier of the NS/Router configurator, the RcvPacingLimit
value was automatically set to 7 for all links.

If you are using the Twinax link, note that it can only support a
RcvPacingLimit of 1.

To resolve this problem, manually modify the following line under
both [ModeProfile#] sections (where # is a number) in the router
configuration file (*.RTR):

RcvPacingLimit=1

or you can re-create the router configuration file using version
4.02 or later of the NS/Router configurator, which now
automatically sets the RcvPacingLimit to 1 for Twinax links.

HOW SETUP AFFECTS Your System (Virtual Device Driver Paths)
-----------------------------------------------------------

In addition to the entries that the setup program makes in the
WIN.INI file (see your NS/Router manual for details) the setup
program also makes the following entries in your SYSTEM.INI file
under the [386Enh] section heading (depending on the links that
you chose to install):

DEVICE=C:\RALLY!\NSROUTER\VNS8022.386    (virtual device driver
					  for the 802.2 link)
DEVICE=C:\RALLY!\NSROUTER\VNSAINTD.386   (virtual device driver
					  for the SDLC link)

NT SNA SERVER SUPPORT
---------------------

NT SNA Server link type is now supported.

---------------------------------------------
FILE TRANSFER TIME-OUTS WITH 802.2 CONNECTION
---------------------------------------------

When using the NS/Router with an 802.2 connection, large file
transfers may time out and terminate after approximately 4 minutes.
This will cause your Windows Session to lock and require you to
re-boot your PC. Possible work-arounds include: running the file
transfer at a time when the AS/400 or the local area network has
less traffic; or using a different connection type. If you still
have difficulties running large file transfers, please contact
Attachmate Customer Support.
