[YOU WILL FIND THIS SECTION IN THE FILE USERPAGE.TXT INCLUDED ON THE
PAGERGATE INSTALLATION DISK. USERPAGE.TXT HAS BEEN DESIGNED TO BE CUT
AND PASTED INTO A CC:MAIL MESSAGE ADDRESSED TO CC:MAIL USERS WHO WILL
BE USING PAGERGATE. BEFORE E-MAILING THESE INSTRUCTIONS TO USERS, EDIT

BRACKETED SECTIONS [ ].]

PagerGate has now been installed on your cc:Mail post office. This means
you are now be able to send messages to alphanumeric pagers using cc:Mail.

SENDING A MESSAGE TO A PAGER

[INCLUDE IF SETUP TO SEND SUBJECT LINE ONLY]

To send a message to a pager user, select a pager user name from the
cc:Mail directory. Pager users will typically have the word "Pager"
somewhere in the user name. Now type your entire message into the
subject line. You need to keep your message short since the subject
line only supports up to 60 characters. Any characters typed into
the text area of the cc:Mail message will not be sent. If you want
a receipt returned to you indicating your message was delivered to
the paging service provider, select Return Receipt. Return Receipts
do not mean your message was successfully delivered to a user's pager.
They only tell you your message was successfully delivered to the
paging company. Now send your message as you would any other cc:Mail
message. PagerGate does not support file attachments. If a file is
attached to a message it will be ignored.

[INCLUDE IF SETUP TO SEND ENTIRE MESSAGE]

To send a message to a pager user, select a pager user name from the
cc:Mail directory. Pager users will typically have the word "Pager"
somewhere in the user name. Now type your message as you would any
other cc:Mail message. If you want a receipt returned to you
indicating your message was delivered to the paging service provider
select Return Receipt. Return Receipts do not mean your message was
successfully delivered to a user's pager. They only tell you your
message was successfully delivered to the paging company. Now send
your message as you would any other cc:Mail message. PagerGate does
not support file attachments. If a file is attached to a message it
will be ignored.

[INCLUDE IF SET UP TO SEND BODY OF MESSAGE, NO SUBJECT LINE]

To send a message to a pager user, select a pager user name from the
cc:Mail directory. Pager users will typically have the word "Pager"
somewhere in the user name. Now skip past the subject line. Your
cc:Mail administrator has configured PagerGate to only send messages
from the text area of a cc:Mail message. Messages typed in the
subject line will not be sent to a user's pager. (This does not
apply to numeric paging if enabled) Type your message into the text
area of the cc:Mail message. If you want a receipt returned to you
indicating your message was delivered to the paging service provider
select Return Receipt. Return Receipts do not mean your messages were
successfully delivered to a user's pager. They only tell you your
message was successfully delivered to the paging company. Now send
your message as you would any other cc:Mail message. PagerGate does
not support file attachments. If a file is attached to a message
it will be ignored.

NUMERIC PAGING

[INCLUDE THIS SECTION ONLY IF YOUR PAGING SERVICE PROVIDER SUPPORTS
NUMERIC PAGING THOUGH THEIR TERMINAL]

Numbers can also be sent to numeric pagers using cc:Mail. Numeric
pager users are listed in the cc:Mail address book as
(Pager: Numbers Only). After addressing your message, type
the phone number you want sent to the numeric pager in the subject
line and send.

MESSAGE LENGTH

[THIS SECTION DOES NOT APPLY TO PAGERGATE INSTALLATIONS THAT HAVE ONLY
BEEN CONFIGURED TO ONLY SEND SUBJECT LINES TO ALPHANUMERIC PAGERS.]

PagerGate will send [TYPE MAXPAGESPERMSG FOR THIS USER] page[s]
containing [TYPE MAXPAGEWIIDTH FOR THIS USER] characters each,
for every cc:Mail message sent to a pager. It is important to
remember this length limitation when composing cc:Mail messages
to be sent to pagers. If your message is longer it will be
shortened to comply with this length limitation.

[INCLUDE THIS SECTION IF THE SIGNATURE OPTIONS HAS BEEN ENABLED]

PagerGate appends a dash followed by your signature to every message
you send to an alphanumeric pager. Your signature will be in the
following format [TYPE SIGNATURE FORMAT FOR THIS USER]. Keep the
length of your signature in mind when composing a cc:Mail message
to be sent to a pager. For each cc:Mail message, the last page
sent will always be reduced in size by the number of characters
contained in your signature. For example, if the entire name John
Doe were to be appended to a 132 character page, PagerGate would
reduce the allowed message area to 123 characters to allow for the
signature to be appended in the following format:
[TYPE SIGNATURE FORMAT FOR THIS USER].

BLIND ADDRESSING PAGER USERS

[INCLUDE THIS SECTION ONLY IF BLIND ADDRESSING HAS BEEN ENABLED]

You can send messages to pager users not listed in the cc:Mail
directory using cc:Mail's blind addressing features.

To send a message to a pager user not listed in the cc:Mail directory,
select the pager user's Paging Service Provider Post Office from the
cc:Mail address book and press enter. Now enter the name of the pager
user followed by PIN# and their pager pin number.

John Doe PIN#1234567

Now type your message just like you would if this pager user were
listed in the cc:Mail directory. If you can not find the post
office of the pager user you are trying to page in the cc:Mail
directory, contact your cc:Mail administrator.

PAGER MESSAGE NOTIFY

[INCLUDE THIS SECTION ONLY IF MESSAGE NOTIFY HAS BEEN ENABLED]

Any pager user listed in the cc:Mail address book will have a copy
of the message paged to them delivered to their cc:Mail inbox
automatically.

If you want to be added to the cc:Mail address book as a pager
user or have any questions about sending messages to pagers using
cc:Mail, please contact your cc:Mail Administrator.
