INSTALLATION:
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Please verify the following:
     If you are running NetWare NFS on your server, make sure that
     it is v1.20B or later.  See the NFSV12B.TXT file in the
     <vol>:NET directory or on the first installation diskette for
     information about obtaining a free upgrade.  (The <vol>: is
     the server volume where you installed the shared LAN WorkGroup
     files.)
     If you are using TCPIP.NLM v1.00 (ships with NetWare v3.11),
     you must load BCASTLIB.NLM.  Otherwise, PKERNEL.NLM and
     BOOTPD.NLM do not load.  If you are using TCPIP.NLM v2.02
     (ships with NetWare v4.0), do not load BCASTLIB.NLM.
NOTE: LAN WorkGroup runs with NetWare v3.11.
The LAN WorkGroup installation procedure automatically detects the
above conditions, but if errors occur related to the above, contact
your Novell-authorized reseller.
Refer to the LAN WorkGroup Installation and Configuration Guide for
installation instructions.  See the DOCUPDTE.TXT file in the
<vol>:NET directory or on the first installation diskette for
additional installation information.
SERVER CONFIGURATION:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

You can use the LWGCON utility to configure most LAN WorkGroup
servers by following the instructions provided in the LAN WorkGroup
Installation and Configuration Guide. LWGCON has extensive online
help you can access through the <F1> key. If you need or want
additional information about your configuration, refer to the
NETCFG.TXT file for detailed information about the shared NET.CFG
file and client workstation configuration, including advanced
topics such as IPTUNNEL and SLIP/PPP. This file is provided on the
first installation diskette and copied to the <vol>:NET directory.

For more information on TCP/IP, including information on IP
addresses, subnetworks, and subnetwork masks, see Appendix E,
"TCP/IP Protocol Suite," of the LAN WorkPlace for DOS
Administrator's Guide.

If you have servers, routers, and host computers that don't use
BOOTP but have IP addresses within an automatic IP address
allocation for a subnetwork, you can create dummy BOOTP entries for
these nodes using the LWGCON IP Address Assignment form. You need
to create an entry with the IP address of the system; you do not
enter the hardware (physical) address for the system. This
prevents the BOOTP server from allocating that IP address to a
second workstation.

See the DOCUPDTE.TXT file in the <vol>:NET directory or on the
first installation diskette for additional information.

NOTE: You must configure at least one subnetwork profile even if
      you don't have subnetworks. Also, you must use LWGCON to
      configure the LAN WorkGroup parameters before running the
      software.

CLIENT INSTALLATION AND CONFIGURATION:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After you run LWGCON and configure your workstation types, you can
copy the client workstation software onto a workstation by taking
the following steps:
1.  Log into your LAN WorkGroup server from the client workstation
    using the client's assigned NetWare username.
2.  Map a drive to the NetWare volume where the LAN WorkGroup
    server software has been installed.  For example:
     MAP L: = LWG-SERVER\VOL1:      <Enter>
3.  Change to that drive.  For example:
     L:       <Enter>
4.  Enter the following command:
     WGSETUP  [workstation_type]     <Enter>
This command runs an automated configuration program that copies
several files onto the client workstation and updates system files.
Refer to the LAN WorkGroup Installation and Configuration Guide for
detailed instructions on setting up your client configurations.
Workstation NET.CFG File:
************************
Every time you run WGSETUP it adds new Link Support and Link Driver
sections to your workstation's NET.CFG file (above any existing
sections).  The link driver and LSL programs read the first Link
Support and Link Driver sections and ignore any others, but your
NET.CFG file might look confusing if you do not delete or comment
out old sections.  Use the pound sign (#) as the leading character
to comment out a line.
Running With Windows:
********************
If you have trouble running Windows, check to make sure that you
don't have an extra WIN.INI file in a directory that is in your
PATH statement (other than your Windows directory).  If you do,
delete or rename this extra WIN.INI file.
If you run the LAN WorkGroup Windows applications and they won't
start or you get a DYNALINK error, check to make sure that you
don't have an extra WLIBSOCK.DLL file in your Windows directory.
If you do, delete or rename this extra WLIBSOCK.DLL file; LAN
WorkGroup uses this file from your \NET\BIN directory.
DELETING LAN WORKGROUP SOFTWARE:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

To delete (or uninstall) the LAN WorkGroup v4.1 software from a
NetWare server console, follow these steps:

1. Run the NetWare Product installation program from the NetWare
    server console by typing:

                LOAD INSTALL      <Enter>

2. From the installation menu, select Product Options and press
    <Enter>.

    The utility displays a list of currently installed products.

3. Select the LWG product ID and press <Delete>.

The installation program deletes all LAN WorkGroup files installed
by PINSTAL.NLM except for the following:

  From the SYS:SYS directory:
     pkernel.nlm
     bcastlib.nlm
     rpcbstub.nlm

  From the <vol>:NET\BIN directory:
     wgsetup.log
     wgsetup.cfg

  From the <vol>:NET\HSTACC directory:
     437-fix.map
     437-iso.map
     437-mlt.map
     enhmap.bin
     extmap.bin
     fonts.txt
     kbddata
     regmap.bin
     scancode.map
     scancode.txt
     t4_def.par
     unix_map.win
     vms_map.win
     plan.txt

  From the <vol>:NET\PROFILE directory:
     common.php
     vms.php
     xconsole.php
     xpc.php

In addition to the above files, the SYS:ETC\BOOTPTAB,
SYS:ETC\BOOTP.LOG, SYS:ETC\BOOTPTAB.LWP, <vol>:NET\BIN\WGSETUP.LWG,
and SYS:PUBLIC\SYSLOGIN.LWG files, created and maintained by
LWGCON, are not deleted. Other configuration files created by you
or another user with SUPERVISOR privileges in <vol>:NET\HSTACC,
<vol>:NET\PROFILE, or <vol>:NET\SCRIPT are not deleted. The NET
directory is also not deleted by the deinstallation process. In
addition, you can run SYSCON and remove the LANWORKGROUP NetWare
group, and edit the system login script to remove the include of
SYS:PUBLIC\SYSLOGIN.LWG.
