    Using older versions of Q-DOS and/or Q-DOS Network manager with Q-DOS 3
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------
The QDOS.LOG file created by Q-DOS II or Q-DOS Network manager is
easily recognized by Q-DOS 3, and will be overwritten and updated to
the improved format used by Q-DOS 3. However, Q-DOS II and Q-DOS
Network Manager do not recognize the Q-DOS 3 log file. These
versions will freeze when trying to read it.

In the event you wish to run an older version of Q-DOS after you
have installed Q-DOS 3, you must first erase the QDOS.LOG file.
When you return to Q-DOS 3, the conversion automatically changes the
      format.

NOTE: The structure of the log file allows Q-DOS 3
to handle virtually any size disk. Keeping the name
constant maintains compatibility with both OPTune
and Back-It, which informs Q-DOS 3 of changes made to
the directory structure on your disk.

    Q-DOS 3 and DR DOS 5.0 or 6.0
    -----------------------------
The only known problems with DR DOS 5.0 and 6.0 are:

      1) It will allow a user to make subdirectories deeper than the
MS-DOS limit. If a system is set up with subdirectories deeper
than the MS-DOS limit, Q-DOS 3 will have problems accessing them.

      2) If a user tries to copy or move a directory to an unformatted
floppy, it will result in memory allocation errors and a machine
         lockup.

     3) Sometimes very slow access of the floppies. Try QD# /NAB.

    Microsoft Windows 3.0 Support
    -----------------------------
Two new files, QD3W30.PIF and QDOS.ICO, are now included on the
release disk for use by Microsoft Windows 3.0 users. Follow these
steps to run Q-DOS 3 under Windows:

      1) Run Windows and choose FILE followed by NEW. Select PROGRAM ITEM
then OK. Under DESCRIPTION put QDOS 3 under COMMAND LINE put
C:\QDOS\QD3W30.PIF. Select CHANGE ICON under FILE NAME put
C:\QDOS\QDOS.ICO. Click OK then OK again. Note: If the
Q-DOS 3 files are located any place other than C:\QDOS, you
will need to edit the QD3W30.PIF file and the above mentioned
         path names.

    Microsoft Windows 3.1 Support
    -----------------------------

      1) Start Windows. Run Windows Setup.
      2) Select OPTIONS. Select SETUP APPLICATIONS.
      3) Select ASK YOU TO SPECIFY AN APPLICATION. Click OK.
      4) In the APPLICATION PATH AND FILENAME section put in C:\QDOS\QD3.EXE
or to whatever path QDOS was installed. Click on OK.
      5) The QDOS ICON should appear under the applications group.
