      =============================================================

							  Date: 8-1-94

Along with the rest of your software, you should find a diskette labeled
"PC-DOCTOR". This diskette contains a utility that will help you to diagnose
any hardware problems you may be having with your computer. It provides
some idea as to how the system is failing before you contact your
technical support representative.

MAKE A BACKUP OF PC-DOCTOR DISKETTE
-----------------------------------
Please make a backup copy of the PC-DOCTOR diskette if you have not done so.
To make a backup disk, exit PC-DOCTOR program to DOS prompt. At A:> prompt,
type DISKCOPY A: A: and press "Enter" key.
Note: Please have a blank diskette (1.44MB) available to use for your
      backup disk.

PC-DOCTOR INSTALLATION (OPTIONAL)
---------------------------------
It is very easy to install PC-DOCTOR, simply turn on your system with no
diskettes in either drives (A or B). Let the computer complete its boot-up
process. You will then see a "C:" prompt on the screen. Next, take the
PC-DOCTOR diskette and insert it into your diskette drive (drive A:).

Next you will want to make sure the prompt on your screen reads A:\>

If the prompt on the screen is C:, then the only thing you need to do is
type A: right where the cursor is flashing. After you type "A:", hit the
"Enter" key. You will then see the prompt on your screen change to A:.

When the prompt has changed to A:, simply type INSTALL and press the "Enter"
key. So your screen will look like this when you're ready to hit the Enter
key:

A:>INSTALL (press "Enter" key)

The utility will prompt you to answer some simple questions such as source
path; this is where the files are coming from -- in this case the A: drive.

The program will also ask you where you want to put the files; the screen
will show something like this -- C:\PCDR. If this is OK, and it usually is,
simply press the "Enter" key again and the program will install itself into
the PCDR directory which it will create for you on the hard drive.

When the installation process is completed, you will see a message
on the screen saying:

	"PC-DOCTOR installation is complete"
	"please press spacebar"

Your screen will now show the "A:" prompt. At the "A:" prompt type the
following: "COPY MENU.EXE C:\PCDR". Don't type the quotation marks. After
typing this simply hit the "Enter" key and the MENU.EXE file will be copied
to the PCDR directory.

You also have the ability to restore the original CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT
files onto your hard drive if they were somehow lost or corrupted. To access
any of the utility features of PC-DOCTOR, type the command "MENU" at the
C:\PCDR> prompt. If your screen prompt only show this: C:\> , then type
CD\PCDR at the prompt on your screen and the prompt will change to C:\PCDR>.
After you type the MENU command it will then look like this on the screen:

C:\PCDR>MENU (press the "Enter" key)
("menu" can be upper or lower case.)

After the program loads it will present you with four options; Restore
the original CONFIG.SYS file; Restore the original AUTOEXEC.BAT file;
Run the diagnostics; and Exiting back to the DOS prompt.

If you happen to load a software package and find your system no longer runs
the same way it used to, it may be that your CONFIG.SYS or AUTOEXEC.BAT files
were altered by the addition of the new software. Use the MENU program to
restore either or both of the CONFIG.SYS or the AUTOEXEC.BAT files back to
their original state and your system will run as it first did.

Run PC-DOCTOR diagnostics whenever you feel you may have a hardware problem.
You should always run this diagnostic utility prior to calling for technical
support. All you do is make the selection "run PC-DOCTOR" and select the
first option "DIAGNOSTICS" which is already highlighted. Next you will see
a menu choice called "SYSTEM TEST". Make the SYSTEM TEST selection and just
sit back and let the program take your system to a wide variety tests.

If the system test seems to be OK, then run the selection "ALL TESTS". Make
note that you will need to have a floppy diskette in the floppy drive when
doing this test. If you run the "ALL TESTS" selection and find a reported
failure, please contact your technical support representative.
