To my knowledge an IPS file is what you what to change in a game
file. It basically loads the gold-finger games codes for you, instead to
you sitting there punching in the letters one by one. It (with the right
util) will modify your game file to have those codes on permanantly. So
everytime you run the saved gamefile it would have the changes already. I
have several utils that do the follow up jobs of IPS. One makes the
actual changes with a given IPS file, and the other gives you the IPS if
you give it the original file and the modified one. But with the actual
code to IPS format generator I'm stuck. The files I have are PATCHER and
PATCHMK or something like that.
