Important Information About CA-Cricket Presents 1.3

**PLEASE READ THIS INFORMATION BEFORE USING TEMPLATES!**

Template File Names

The Presents template library is divided into four sub-directories inside the main TEMPLATE directory:

35MM
SCREEN
COLOR
B&W

Each template file in the library has either LP or PP in its name (in front of the three letter file extension .CPT). These letters indicate the page orientation of the template (portrait or landscape) to help you locate the file you want to use more quickly.

LP= Landscape page orientation; PP=Portrait page orientation

Converting 1.2 Template Files

Custom templates you created in Presents 1.2 must be saved in 1.3 format in order to preview them in the Get Template dialog box.

To convert your 1.2 custom templates to Presents 1.3 format:

1. Open a new presentation.
2. Assign the desired device to the frame, notes, or handout view.
3. Open each 1.2 custom template using the Get Template command in the Options menu.
4. Apply each template to the desired view.
5. Save each template using the Save Template command in the Options menu.

For complete information about templates, see Chapter 10 in the CA-Cricket Presents User's Guide.

PaintJet and LaserJet Drivers With Templates

The HP PaintJet driver is assigned to the frame view for all color templates; the HP LaserJet III is assigned to the frame view for all black-and-white templates.

Consult your Microsoft Windows User's Guide for information about installing drivers if you need to install the PaintJet and/or LaserJet III driver.

If you don't have the PaintJet and LaserJet III drivers installed and active in your system, objects are scaled automatically when you apply a template to a view; whatever device is assigned to that view is used. Also, if you open a template file containing text, a message asks if the text can be rescaled. Click OK to rescale text, or No to use the original size text.

WARNING: If you don't plan to print to a PaintJet or LaserJet III printer, rescaling and/or repositioning objects and text in templates may be necessary.

Note: If you change page orientation in the Presents Page Setup dialog (File menu), but the frame orientation doesn't change in the presentation window, your printer probably isn't active in the Windows Control Panel. See the Microsoft Windows User's Guide for information about changing printer driver status to Active in the Control Panel.
