This file describes ancillary information, bug fixes, and enhancements that
do not appear in other FTP Software documentation.

To successfully run Reference Desk, the PC/TCP online documentation system,
we recommend the following system configurations.

Hardware Requirements
---------------------
	- An 80386SX 16MHz processor
	- 10 MB hard-disk space if you install all titles on your PC
	- At least 2MB RAM
        - Microsoft compatible mouse
	- 4-bit VGA graphics adapter with color VGA monitor
        - Optional. MPC-compatible CD ROM

Software Requirements
---------------------
	- Microsoft Windows version 3.1 or later (enhanced mode)
	- MS DOS version 3.30 or later

System Fonts
------------
Reference Desk online books use three Windows True Type fonts:

	- Arial (Normal, Bold, Italic, and Bold Italic)
	- Courier New (Normal, Bold, Italic, and Bold Italic)
	- Times New Roman (Normal, Bold, Italic, and Bold Italic)

By default, these fonts reside in the \WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory with the
file extension .FOT.

If one or more of these fonts are missing from your system, install them
from the Microsoft Windows 3.1 distribution media using the Fonts dialog
in the Control Panel. Consult the Microsoft Windows documentation and/or
the Control Panel's online helpfor specific instructions.

If you choose not to install the necessary fonts, Windows substitutes
available fonts. While Reference Desk does run without the correct fonts,
the appearance of the online books may be unsatisfactory.

Search Feature
--------------
The MicroSoft Multimedia Viewer search capability operates on one book at
a time. It does not search across multiple titles. Similarly, the
Index feature lists words from the index of the current book only.
Select and open a book before you use Search or Index.
