INSTALLATION:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
To install LAN WorkPlace for DOS, v4.1 software, type:
                A:INSTALL      <Enter>
This starts an interactive installation session that installs this product.
NDIS Support:
The LAN WorkPlace software includes the ODINSUP driver.  This driver
provides an interface that supports connectivity for the Network Driver
Interface Specification (NDIS) and the Open Datalink Interface (ODI) Specification.
To install the ODINSUP driver, take these steps:
	1.  Insert Diskette 1 in drive A: (or other drive).
	2.  Enter the following UNPACK command from the DOS prompt:
		C:\>  A:UNPACK   A:\NET\BIN\ODINSUP.CO_
ODINSUP functions as a default protocol stack by accepting requests from
the ODI Link Support Layer (LSL) and passing them to the NDIS protocol stack,
unless they are specifically marked for IPX, TCP/IP, or another registered protocol.
Refer to the NetWare Workstation for DOS manual for additional information
on the ODINSUP driver.
SOFTWARE UPDATES:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The following software updates have been made since the publication
of the LAN WorkPlace for DOS manual set and the release note:

TNVT220 Utility:

The bottom line of the TNVT220 setup screens (just above the TNVT220 status
line) currently says:

	Press numeric Enter or + key to take this action ...

If you have problems with your keyboard mapping (for example, your keyboard
does not have a numeric Enter key), you must make appropriate changes
in your EXTMAP.TXT mapping file (or current mapping file for your
workstation).  For example:

  	Plus = NULL;
  	Enter = Num Plus;

After you update your mapping file, you must run the KEY220 utility as
described in the LAN WorkPlace for DOS Administrator's Guide.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
NOTE:
If you have an enhanced keyboard, the numeric Enter key will work but the
numeric + key will not.  The numeric + key is intended for the AT and XT keyboards;
these keyboards do not have a numeric Enter key.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

XPC Utility:

If you click the XPC icon, XPC opens a DOS window and displays the
DOS prompt, but you must type the command "XPC" to run the utility.

TELAPI, TSU, and Procomm Plus:

When running TELAPI, TSU, and DataStorm's Procomm Plus Network, v2.0 software,
use the BAPI interface. Do not use the Int 14H interface.

Serving FTP Application:

When using the Access Restrictions option of Serving FTP, the following
security precautions are recommended:

	Enter your own username and password in the Restrict Access dialog box
	to satisfy the minimum requirement of the feature.

	Enter any other username without a password to provide limited access
	to your workstation.

If you provide password-protected access to other users, they will gain complete
access to your workstation and all of its file systems. If you grant these
rights, Novell recommends that you do so with caution.

RFC NetBIOS:

RFC NetBIOS has a new keyword for the Protocol TCPIP section of the NET.CFG
file. The nb_brdcast keyword determines the style of IP broadcast
address which RFC NetBIOS will use when it has to broadcast packets.
The default value for nb_brdcast is 1, which indicates that the all-ones
form of IP broadcast should be used. If you have trouble interoperating
with other RFC NetBIOS implementations, you should try setting the
nb_brdcast keyword to 0.

RFC NetBIOS also has a new section in NET.CFG named Protocol RFCNBIOS.
This new section can be used to preload the NetBIOS Name Cache with
up to 16 IP addresses that are not on the same broadcast network
as your workstation. The format of this section is as follows:

   Protocol RFCNBIOS
      RemoteName1   129.57.52.6
      RemoteName2   129.57.32.8

Refer to Chapter 3, Network Administration, under Administering NetBIOS in the
LAN WorkPlace for DOS Administrator's Guide for more information on RFC NetBIOS.

Script Director:

Script Director has a new section in the LWP.INI file for starting the
application in one of three modes:

   Normal
   Minimized
   Maximized

Under the normal setting, Script Director displays the Script Director
panel and any windows opened by the script (for example, the Status Window
or the Trace Window). Under the minimized setting, Script Director
is iconized and any script operations are run in the background.
Under the maximized setting, Script Director runs the same as under
the normal setting, but the display is enlarged (maximized).

The format of the ScriptDirector section of the LWP.INI file is as follows:

   [ScriptDirector]
      Start={ Normal | Minimized | Maximized }

For example:

   [ScriptDirector]
      Start=Minimized

Any one of the values can be abbreviated to the first three letters (that is,
Nor, Min, and Max). The default setting is Start=Normal.
