WELCOME!

Thank-you for purchasing the CA-Realia II Workbench. This release
of the Workbench provides many new features and also incorporates
fixes to almost all of the problems reported in the original
release.

The following text files will be copied to your REAL2 directory
during the installation process:

README.TXT - The file you are now reading

READMORE.WRI - A Windows Write formatted file that is
displayed at the completion of the initial Install and
Setup process. This file contains more detail about
various aspects of the installation and tuning process
in addition to notes about special configurations.
Please refer to it if you experience any problems. For
convenience, you may want to print this file from within
     the Windows Write accessory application.

To view the latest information about the Workbench
components change directory (i.e. CD) to the Workbench
directory (typically: CD \REAL2) and type: REGISTER. The
REGISTER command invokes a DOS-based program that displays
the latest information about the Workbench and all other
installed CA-Realia components. Note that COBOL and CICS
are included with the Workbench so they are not displayed
separately in the registration file.

*************** READ THIS BEFORE YOU INSTALL! *****************

Before you install the Workbench please make sure that:

1 - If you are installing a workstation that will be running the
Workbench from a LAN then select just the component called:
'Local Workstation'. This copies just those files that must
be installed in your own private Windows directory. You will
need to point to where the Workbench files have been
installed on your LAN so make sure that you have this
information available before you start the install program.
Alternatively, you can always re-enter the Setup program at
any time to point to the directories where the Workbench files
    are located.

2 - The CA-Realia COBOL, CA-Realia CICS and CA-Realia LCM components
contained in the Workbench MUST be used in place of any
older versions of those products that you may already have
installed. Please make sure that you remove older CA-Realia
COBOL, CICS and LCM components from the PATH assignment
    statement in your AUTOEXEC.BAT.

UPGRADING FROM A PRIOR RELEASE

If you have an earlier version of the Workbench installed, you may
either install on top of your existing files, or delete all of the
files in your Workbench directory. Each method is discussed below.

To install over existing Workbench files, you must first reset
the attributes of all read-only Workbench files. For example, the
   command sequence:

   CD\REAL2
   ATTRIB -R /S

will reset the attributes for all read-only files located in the
REAL2 directory (and all of its subdirectories). to allow those files
to be overridden. Note that the CA-Realia LCM component marks its CFG
files as read-only which, unless reset, will cause the installation
   process to halt prematurely.

To delete all files in the Workbench directory, you should first backup
your LCMUSERS.CFG files so you don't have to setup all of your users
again. Also backup any other work files that contain information you
might need. After these backups, delete the entire Workbench directory.
(This can be very conveniently from the File Manager in Windows).
