ReadMe for Type Twister

Much as we'd like to, its virtually impossible to get every single
detail perfect when it comes to software. So please read through this
file for explanations of a few last-minute details that didn't make it
into the final product or the documentation, and could otherwise be a
source of some confusion:

1. Type Twister does not directly print out your creations, you need to
copy them (or insert them) into another application like a word
processor or a paint/draw program. However, if you do experience
any printing problems, make sure you are using the latest version of
all printer drivers. We experienced a few problems with version 3.0
of the HP Deskjet 550C driver. Some objects might print with a
lighter-than-expected color (or transparent color) in the text face.
This happens with very light face colors (white was the worst). If
you experience this type of problem, try a driver version later than
3.0; printing works great with HP driver 3.1! Its always a good idea
to install the latest printer driver to keep up with changing
compatibility issues; believe it or not, printer companies sometimes
end up with bugs too. Go figure?!?

2. Since the host application takes care of remembering
the size and shape of inserted objects, we can't always guarantee
that this information will be remembered. For instance, if you have
horizontally resized a Type Twister object within a program like
Microsoft Word, and then gone back into Type Twister to make a
change, you might need to resize the object again when you go back
to Word. Yeah, it's an extra step but hopefully we'll gain control of
this issue by the time we build the next version. We're working on it
but we wanted to get you the product so you could get going making
your cool designs today....

3. You might experience some redraw problems if you are working
zoomed way out and your object is in the pasteboard area. The trick
is to stay within the border of the page if youre working zoomed out.
As long as a piece of your object is on the preview page, Type
Twister should redraw just fine.

4. Don't rename or move any of the files from your TYPTWSTR
directory. Type Twister stores data in several files and if files are
moved or renamed, you might experience difficulties. There is also a
TYPTWSTR.INI file in your Windows directory that should not be
renamed, changed or moved either.

5. A design button saves the attributes of any custom design you
create. These attributes are Effect, Font, Shape and Colorset, along
with any custom settings pertaining to effect or colorset. Rotation,
skew angle, arc positions and object aspect ratio are examples of
items that are NOT SAVED when a design button is created.

6. Make sure that you are using an up-to-date driver for your
monitor. Some display cards have exhibited odd problems that seem
to go away when drivers are updated to the latest driver version. If
you notice odd display problems, please check with your monitor
manufacturer to see if there are updates available. If you still have
problems after updating to a new driver, please call our Tech
Support department.

Thats it. Have fun using Aldus Type Twister, the Most Outrageous
Type Enhancer!
