IMPORTANT!!!

Please do the following before installing the released version of
Microsoft Access 2.0.

* Remove all Microsoft Access 2.0 Beta and Test Release versions by
running presetup.bat. This program will remove outdated files in the
<Windows> and <Windows>\system directory that can prevent the
released version from functioning properly. Some files installed
with the test releases were version stamped incorrectly and will not
be overwritten by the retail product. If you do not remove outdated
files, you will be guaranteed to run into problems.

* If you have installed using setup /a, you should clean up any users
system with presetup and remove and test release files according to
the previous instructions. Any admin setup files should also be
removed.

* Remove the directory and all files that you used to install any
test release of Access.

* Remove the following entries from winhelp.ini
MSACARD.DLL=C:\WORK\ACC2\, Can't find MSACARD.DLL
CCAPI100.DLL=C:\OPSYS\WFW31\SYSTEM\, Can't find CCAPI100.DLL

We have written a utility to help convert pre-release databases to
2.0. Please run this program on each pre-release database that you
have.

* Run Mr. Clean by using the Add-In manager to install.

You will need free space at least the size of your database since
Mr. Clean creates another converted version of the original database
.
1. Start your version of Microsoft Access 2.0
2. Use File|Add-ins|Add-in Manager and select the Add New button
3. Select mrclean.mda
4. Restart Microsoft Access 2.0
5. Open a new database
6. Run "Mr Clean" from the Add-in Manager

- Relationship layouts must be recreated by hand (relationships *are*
recreated, though).
-User modifications to built-in toolbars aren't copied (though custom
toolbars *are*).
-Run every query and report, however don't explicitly save them.
This is not absolutely required, however will make the query/report
run faster the first time.
-The database is not compacted by Mr. Clean you may wish to compact your DB.

The following items should be noted after cleaning up and converting.

*Tables created using Test Release 3 (TR3) of Microsoft Access 2.0
should have been compacted. If you have saved any table datasheet
layouts using TR3 without compacting, then you will not be able to
save the table with the released product. If you still have this
problem, use the conversion utility (convtab.txt) found on the disk.
Import this file and follow the instructions in the top of the
module.

* Read the "Converting Databases to version 2.0" in the help and the
Converting databases appendix in the Building Applications manual.

Thanks for help make Microsoft Access 2.0 a success!!
