                             DAZzle Designer

Introduction

Welcome to DAZzle Designer! Please take a few minutes to read this file
and also read the Users Guide for an introduction to the basics of the
program. You can obtain many more details by accessing the on-line Help
in the program.

Necessary Equipment

DAZzle Designer requires a computer with a hard disk running Windows 3.1
or later, 1M of hard disk space, and a Hayes compatible modem for Dial-A-ZIP.
As with most Windows programs, using a VGA or SVGA monitor greatly improves
the appearance of DAZzle Designer.

Installing DAZzle Designer

To get DAZzle Designer up and running, run the installation program as follows:

1. Insert the DAZzle diskette into drive A: or B:.
2. Start Windows, then choose File|Run.
3. Type A:\SETUP.EXE (or B:\SETUP.EXE. if you use drive B:).
4. Enter your name, address and serial number in the Installation
dialog box. Your serial number is the seven digit number printed
   on the installation diskette.
5. If you are upgrading or re-installing DAZzle, note that the installation
procedure will upgrade the program only. None of your layouts,
preferences or settings will be changed.

Most Common DAZzle Trouble Spots

1. Dial-A-ZIP does not work.

Their is a new expanded troubleshooting section in the on-line
help to work with Dial-A-ZIP problems. Please go through those
    steps to solve your problem.

2. The Envelope/Label/Flyer doesn't print properly.

First, not all printers are created equal, some print envelopes and
labels better than others, reguardless of the software used. Generally,
laser printers perform best, followed by ink jet and then dot matrix.

With all printers, make sure you select the proper paper feed options
in the File|Printer Setup. Select the correct tray, orientation and
also the location for envelopes. You can use the two offset values
to accurately adjust the printing location on the mail piece. For the
fastest results, use the simplest envelope design, the more
fonts, text messages and graphics used the slower the print speed.
The DAZzle On-line help has very extensive instructions for envelope and
label feeding for many common printers.

3. Importing address from other applications

Use either the clipboard (copy and pasting) or use DAZzle's DDE capability
if your other application supports DDE. Please check the on-line help for
    details on these features.

The current release of DAZzle has the following known limitations:

1. TIFF files over 64K can not be used. FAX or LZW compressed TIFF files
are not supported. Color TIFF files completely supported.
2. Some very large (over 1 megabyte) PCX files do not work in DAZzle.
