1. INSTALLING AND OPENING THE OBJECT CONVERTERS
-----------------------------------------------

By default, the Object Converters are installed to the
C:\OBJCNVT directory. No Windows group is created. The
Object Converters are Paradox for Windows forms that you use
from within Paradox for Windows.

To open the Object Converters, start Paradox for Windows.
Choose File|Working directory to set your working directory
to C:\OBJCNVT. Then choose File|Open|Form, and open the form
CONVERT.FDL. Refer to the Object Converter Help system for
information on using the Object Converters.

2. KNOWN PROBLEMS
-----------------

- Before converting a form, you must make sure the Snap To
Grid option is turned off. To do this,
  1. Open any form in the Form Design window.
  2. Uncheck Properties|Snap to Grid
  3. Choose Properties|Form Options|Save Defaults
  4. Close the form
You can then open CONVERT.FDL and convert your forms.

- Paradox for Windows does not allow you to define field
objects with fields from tables that are unlinked in the
  data model.
  - When you convert Paradox DOS forms, such fields are
     converted as calculated fields.
  - When you convert ObjectVision forms, you must place
such fields within a multi-record object.

- The Object Converters assume you are using the default
settings in PXTOOLS.FT. If you are using an alternate
style sheet, or have modified PXTOOLS.FT, you should
return to the default settings in PXTOOLS.FT before
converting forms. If you use an alternate style sheet
while converting, you might encounter conversion errors.

- When converting Paradox DOS forms, keep in mind that
table properties stored in the .SET file are not
considered part of the form, and are not converted.

3. DOCUMENTATION CORRECTIONS
----------------------------

The Object Converters are documented in a Help system
accessible from any Help button on any Object Converter
screen.
