A note to Network managers:

                         * The Unlock Utility *

The Unlock utility, now included with all LAN editions of Project Workbench
for Windows, has been created to address a condition which can occur when
one or more users on a LAN system exit inappropriately. Each time it is run,
the utility automatically inspects the USRCTL.FIL and repairs all user id's
that appear to be corrupted, freeing those slots. In the process, all files
that were locked by those users are released.

The Unlock utility also displays a list of all files in use. These files are
associated with user slots that do not appear corrupt. If necessary, you may
select files from this list and release them. This procedure allows other
PWW sessions "Write Access" to the files.

Note: Each group (.GRP) file is treated as a unit,
therefore, projects defined in the group may not
              be released individually.

The utility is designed to run under Microsoft Windows. To install it, copy
it to the directory where your PWW.EXE file is located (usually the PWW
directory). If you want to add the utility to your desktop, use the File
New command in the Windows Program Manager (see your Windows documentation
for specific instructions).

Note: The Unlock utility should only be used by the network
manager. It should NOT be distributed to users.
