     README CONTENTS

     1. Clearing Backup Status

     2. Troubleshooting SitBack
_________________________________________________________________

     1. Clearing the backup status of a backup configuration.

Pressing the tilde (~) key when in the "What and Where to Back
Up" screen will clear the backup status of the files in the
configuration at the cursor. This is the opposite of pressing
the "T" key for the Total-backup function. Briefly, the "T"
key sets the DOS archive bits and the "~" key clears the DOS
     archive bits.

     2. Troubleshooting SitBack

If SitBack does not backup, check the following:

     Is SitBack loaded into memory?

Type SB from the DOS command line or from the SitBack directory.
     This will either load SitBack into memory or display the message;
     *** SitBack already active ***.

NOTE: You cannot load SitBack from within Windows or a menu window.

Have you created a configuration, What and Where, to be backed up?

Define a "What and Where to Backup" backup configuration.

Are there any new or modified files within the configuration?

SitBack relies on the DOS archive bit on new or modified files to
know what files have not been backed up yet. Create or modify a
file from within the What path to set archive bits or use Total
command in the "What and Where to Backup" screen, to set all archive
bits in the selected What path or all What paths defined.

Are any "When To Backup" times scheduled or does the individual
configuration have a Time/Day to backup scheduled?

If a global "When To Backup", Time/Day of Week, has been defined
that time and the Keyboard/Mouse delay option will be the only
times any backup will occur. If you scheduled Time\Day of Week
in the "What and Where to Backup" screen, that will be the only time
that that backup configuration will backup. If you have only one
configuration, you can not have it scheduled in both places.

Ensure the path to SitBack, i.e. C:\SitBack, is in a PATH statement
     in your Autoexec.bat file.

If your computer automatically enters a program such as Menu or
Windows upon power-up, you need to enter the C:\SitBack\SB command
in the Autoexec.bat file prior to the command that enters the Menu
or Windows. You can use the SB.Bat in the root directory or type
SB in the SitBack directory to manually load SitBack into memory.

***SITBACK MUST BE IN MEMORY FOR IT TO WORK****

     Is SitBack screen open?

Scheduled or Keyboard/Mouse Delay backups will not occur because
SitBack is paused when the SitBack screens are open.
