Preconfiguring cc:Mail for OS/2 WPS User Programs
------------------------------------------------------
It is possible to preconfigure the cc:Mail for OS/2 WPS User programs
before installing them on the users' workstations. Full instructions on
this procedure are in the cc:Mail for OS/2 WPS User's Guide in Chapter
7, Advanced Topics. This is an overview of the procedure:
        1. Install cc:Mail on your workstation (by running INSTALL.EXE
        on Workstation Install Disk 1).
        2. Start cc:Mail. Configure cc:Mail in the manner you wish.
Options that can be configured include window sizes and positions,
colors, fonts, list orders and configurations, notification options,
default message settings, and terms included in the user dictionary
for Spell Check. See the User's Guide for details.
        3. Copy the files CCWPS.INI and LTSUSER1.DIC to the diskette labeled
        "Workstation Install Disk 1."
        4. Install the cc:Mail program files onto each user's workstation
following the instructions in Chapter 2 of the User's Guide.

Installing cc:Mail User Programs from a Network Directory
----------------------------------------------------------
While it is necessary for the Workstation Install program to be run
at each user's workstation, it is not necessary for the Install
program to be run from the original diskette. The contents of the
two Workstation Install diskettes can be copied to the network
(either into two directories - one per disk - or together into one
directory). Then the Workstation Install program can be executed at
each workstation from the network, instead of from the distribution
  diskette.

Disabling User Option to Include Password in CONFIG.SYS
-------------------------------------------------------
During the Workstation Install Program, by default users are offerred
the option to add their cc:Mail log-in information, including their cc:Mail
password, to their CONFIG.SYS file. If they select this option, their
password and other log-in information will be added UNENCRYPTED and in PLAIN
TEXT to the CONFIG.SYS file as enviroment variables. This allows users to
enter mail without logging in, as the log-in process will be
performed automatically using the information in the environment variables.

IF THIS REPRESENTS A SECURITY ISSUE FOR YOUR ORGANIZATION, THE OPTION TO
ADD LOG-IN INFORMATION TO THE CONFIG.SYS CAN BE SUPPRESSED.

In order to remove the option to add password and other log-in information
from the Workstation Install program, simply create a file (any file)
named CCNOPASS (with no extension) on Workstation Install Disk 1. If a file
by this name is present when the Workstation Install INSTALL.EXE program
is executed, then the user is NOT prompted with the option to add log-in
  information to the CONFIG.SYS.

Known Bug in Platform Pack Install Program, Causing Trap 000D Error
--------------------------------------------------------------------
There is a known bug in the INSTALL.EXE program located on the
Platform Pack Install diskette which may, under certain infrequent
conditions, result in a TRAP 000D error message. At certain points,
when you are prompted to "Press any key to continue", there is a
chance that HITTING TWO OR MORE KEYS SIMULTANEOUSLY may cause the
Platform Pack INSTALL.EXE program to crash with a Trap 000D error
message. This is a known condition that will abnormally terminate
the INSTALL.EXE program. If you encounter this problem, simply run
the INSTALL.EXE program again and repeat the installation process.

cc:Mail Admin Tools, Version 4.02, Features and Fixes
------------------------------------------------------
cc:Mail for OS/2 WPS, Version 1.0, includes both OS/2 and DOS versions
of the cc:Mail Admin Tools. The Admin programs included with this package
are Version 4.02. Most but not all of these utilities are provided in both
  DOS and OS/2 versions:

OS/2 Admin Programs DOS Admin Programs
    ------------------- -------------------
    ADMIN2.EXE ADMIN.EXE
    CHKSTAT2.EXE CHKSTAT.EXE
    RECLAIM2.EXE RECLAIM.EXE
    CCBACKU2.EXE CCBACKUP.EXE
                                DIALIN.EXE
                                NPODOWN.EXE

  New RECLAIM/RECLAIM2 feature
  ----------------------------
A new feature has been added to the 4.02 RECLAIM/RECLAIM2
application. The /RENUM switch corrects the situation of slow
response when resynching a user's bulletin-board counts to the user
number. The problem has been identified as a large gap in the
'L'ocal user's USR numbers. The /RENUM option corrects this gap by
renumbering the USR files to eliminate this gap, allowing
more contiguous USR file numbers, resulting in much quicker
access times and resynching. This option is not without a price,
however, since it can often take several hours to complete the
    entire process.
