                    --------------------------------

                    cc:Mail for OS/2 WPS Version 1.0
                             Read Me First

                    --------------------------------

  Important Installation Concerns
  ---------------------------------------------
  1) Under some circumstances on some machines, you may not be able to shut
down OS/2 after running the Workstation Install program. If this occurs,
  simply reboot using Ctrl+Alt+Del.

  2) If the CONFIG.SYS file contains the line SET RESTARTOBJECTS=NO,
then part of the INSTALL process will NOT be completed automatically.
INSTALL adds a program object to the OS/2 Startup Folder temporarily,
in order to create the cc:Mail program objects on the OS/2 desktop after
rebooting. When RESTARTOBJECTS is set to NO, then programs in the
Startup folder are not executed automatically. In order to complete the
cc:Mail installation process under these circumstances, do one of
  the following:

o After rebooting, open the OS/2 Startup folder and double-click
on the program object named "Create cc:Mail Objects." This will
execute the utility that adds the cc:Mail objects to your desktop.
You will be prompted with additional instructions, and the program
will delete itself from the Startup folder upon completion.

      or

o Remove or remark out the line "SET RESTARTOBJECTS=NO" in the
OS/2 CONFIG.SYS file and reboot the computer.

  System Requirements:
  --------------------

o An IBM-compatible computer with an 80386sx or higher 32-bit
    microprocessor.

o At least 6 Mbytes of RAM.

o At least 2 Mbytes of available hard drive space.

    o IBM OS/2 2.1 or higher.

Configuring OS/2 Print Settings to Enable Printing from cc:Mail
  ----------------------------------------------------------------

In order to ensure that all cc:Mail messages print correctly, it is
important to initialize your printer by selecting a print font (other
than the default) before printing from cc:Mail. THIS ONLY NEEDS TO BE
DONE ONCE, TO INITIALIZE THE PRINTER DRIVER. From that point onward
printing from cc:Mail should behave normally and does not require the
  selection of a printer font.

In order to set the printer font:
o Click on the Printer Setup icon button.
o Select the printer that you wish to use.
o Click on the Font button and select a font to use.

Viewing cc:Mail User's Guide and Help Information On-Line
  ----------------------------------------------------------

In addition to the bound cc:Mail for OS/2 WPS User's Guide, cc:Mail
user information, help information, terminology, and error messages
are included in software format. This on-line documentation can be
accessed either through the Help option in the cc:Mail program, or directly
  from OS/2 through the OS/2 VIEW.EXE utility.

The on-line documentation file is named CCHELP.INF. In order to view this
  file using VIEW.EXE:
o Go to an OS/2 command prompt.
o Change directories to the cc:Mail program directory.
o Type VIEW CCHELP. This will bring up CCHELP.INF in the OS/2 on-line
    document reader.
For more information about using VIEW.EXE consult your OS/2 documentation.
