Using Versions of OpenView Older Than 7.0
-----------------------------------------
If you are currently using a version of OpenView older than the 7.0
version included with this product, the OpenView applications you have
may not work with OpenView 7.0 (check with your application supplier).
If so, you may not want to install OpenView 7.0. If you don't install
OpenView 7.0, then you can install and run HP NetServer Assistant 1.0 as
a stand-alone Windows application.

To install NSA as a stand-alone application, specify during your
installation of NSA console software that OpenView is not installed. A
Program Manager group will be created for HP NetServer Assistant.

Installing NSA on a Network Drive
---------------------------------
HP recommends that you install Microsoft Windows, HP OpenView, and HP
NetServer Assistant all on a local hard disk drive and not on a network
drive because of instabilities we have seen when running the software
from a network drive.

File Error: Cannot find NETWARE.DLL
------------------------------------
NSA requires Windows 3.1 to be configured for a NetWare network. If
Windows is not so configured, you will see an error when you launch NSA
stating "Cannot find NETWARE.DLL". To avoid this error, you need to run
Windows setup from DOS and specify your network to be a Novell NetWare
network.

If Your Windows DOS Sessions Are Mostly Blank
---------------------------------------------
In some cases, using the Microsoft Windows 3.1 "VGA" driver can cause
your Windows DOS sessions to be mostly or entirely blank (for example,
when you run RCONSOLE, PCONSOLE, or SYSCON). To avoid this problem, run
Windows Setup and specify the "VGA (Version 3.0)" driver.

Also, see the next note about running Windows Setup.

Running Windows Setup
---------------------
If you are using a local NSA console as a pcANYWHERE host and you run
Windows Setup to change your display, mouse, or keyboard driver, then
you must verify that SYSTEM.INI and PCAW.INI still contain correct
information. See the User's Guide Volume I, Chapter 4, in the section
called "Setting Up the Local Console," for a description of what those
INI files must contain.

Default User Name
-----------------
When NSA asks you to login to a server, it displays a default user name
of SUPERVISOR which you can type over if you wish. If you would like to
change this default, then add the 'defuser' option to the [options]
section of HPASSIST.INI:

  [options]
  ...
defuser=MANAGER (where MANAGER is the default user name you prefer)

Verify Login Information
------------------------
By default, once you login to a server using NSA, NSA assumes that you
won't want to change your user name later (e.g., to change your access
rights). If you would like to change this default so that NSA verifies
login information whenever it's possible to change it (e.g., when you
launch a tool that requires a connection to a server), then add the
'verifylogin' option to the [options] section of HPASSIST.INI:

  [options]
  ...
  verifylogin=yes

Ending a Remote LAN Console Session
-----------------------------------
This is a clarification of the section in Chapter 5 of the User's Guide
Volume I that talks about the End Remote Session tool.

In the Remote Console group, there are two tool buttons: Begin Remote
and End Remote. To begin a remote LAN console session, you click the
Begin Remote button. This will put you in remote control of another NSA
console. To end the remote session, click the End Remote button on the
console you are controlling, NOT the End Remote button on the console
from which you started the remote session.
