       1. Automatic Winds Aloft

Along with the DUAT Access feature, I have just added
automatic winds aloft insertion feature to the Winds
Aloft/Waypoint Editor (accessed by hitting key F2 from AFP
program) module. This feature is invoked by Hitting the
INSERT key while in this module.

In order for this feature to work you must have used the
Aerotech Flight Planners DUAT Access feature and gotten a
weather briefing which includes winds aloft. Also, this
information must have been gotten from DTC DUAT. Their
printout is much easier to computer scan than Contel's in my
opinion. DTC DUAT is reached at 1-800-245-3828.

       2. Waypoint Deletion

Now in the Waypoint Edit/Winds Aloft Module you may
automatically delete all waypoints that are not required for
navigation. Waypoints that I consider necessary for
navigation are VORTACs and Intersections that correspond to
bends in the Victor or Jet Airways.

When you use a Victor or Jet Airway as part of the route of
flight in the main program, all intersections are included
in the initial listing including airway intersections which
are usually designated by number. You can leave these
waypoints in if you like but the flight plan printout
becomes perhaps more verbose than you might like. You can
also delete these or any other waypoints manually.
