You can become skillful at the keyboard if you will carefully
follow the instructions given to you by your teacher and by this
lesson. Much of your success will depend on your position at the
keyboard and your stroking technique.

Sit with hips well back in the chair and with your feet flat on
the floor to maintain proper balance. Clear your desk of any
unneeded material. The front of your keyboard should be even
with the front edge of the desk.

Your fingers should be curved and upright with your wrists low
but never touching the frame of the keyboard.

The "keyboard monitor" is the replica of the keyboard that you
will watch on your computer screen. An example of the keyboard
monitor will be displayed on the next screen.
