1. System requirements
   -------------------
To use Presentation Advisors, you need Quattro Pro for Windows.
In addition to the minimum system requirements for Quattro Pro,
you need 4.5 MB of disk space and 1 MB of memory (in addition to
the 4 MB required by Quattro Pro).

2. Substituting fonts
   ------------------

Many slide templates included with the Presentation Advisors
use the TrueType fonts included on the Advisors disk. If you don't
install these fonts, Windows uses a substitute font. As a result,
text in the suggested slide template might not look like you expected.
You can manually adjust the text and continue to use the suggested
template.

If you transfer your slides to another computer, be sure any TrueType
fonts used in your presentation are also installed on the new
computer.

3. Moving the Presentation Advisors on your disk
   (Manual installation)
   ---------------------

The install program automatically places the Presentation Advisors
files in the correct place on your disk. If you want to manually
reinstall from the uncompressed files (for example, if you want to
move the Advisors to a new location on your computer, or move them
to a new computer), here is what you need to know:

   1. The Advisors should be installed under an existing
Quattro Pro for Windows 5.0 directory. The files ADVISOR.UI,
ADVISOR.INI, and ADVISOR.HLP must be placed in the same
directory as QPW.EXE. The remaining files should be in a
subdirectory below the Quattro Pro for Windows 5.0 directory.

   2. ADVISOR.INI contains only two lines: one which indicates the
name of the Advisors subdirectory location, and another which
indicates the name of the Windows system directory. A sample
      ADVISOR.INI file follows:

C:\qpw\advisor\ (Be sure to include the final "\")
        C:\windows\system\

   3. If the following one-line statement doesn't already exist, it
must be added to the QPW.INI file located in your Windows system
directory (in the Quattro Pro for Windows 5.0 section):

        InitMacro={FileOpen "Advisor.UI"}

4. Deactivating the Presentation Advisors
   --------------------------------------

To prevent the Presentation Advisors from loading, but not remove
them from your hard disk, remove the following statement from the
QPW.INI file located in your windows system directory (in the
Quattro Pro for Windows 5.0 section):

     InitMacro={FileOpen "Advisor.UI"}

5. Removing the Presentation Advisors
   --------------------------------------

To remove the Presentation Advisors, follow these steps:

   1. Remove the InitMacro statement (as described in topic 3)
      from the QPW.INI file.

   2. Erase the ADVISORS subdirectory.

   3. Erase the files ADVISOR.UI, ADVISOR.HLP, and ADVISOR.INI
from your Quattro Pro for Windows 5.0 directory.

You can reinstall the Advisors at any time.

6. Improving performance
   ---------------------

The Presentation Advisors are very memory-intensive. There are three
things you can do to improve performance:

   1. Turn on Windows virtual memory (swap disk area).

   2. Close other Windows applications running in the background.

   3. When you're done using the Advisors, unload them by choosing
Help|Unload Advisors. This is particularly helpful if you're
      working on a large spreadsheet.

7. Default startup directory
   -------------------------

The Advisors will not load successfully if the startup directory has
been changed from the default Quattro Pro directory. To change back
to the default Quattro Pro directory:

   1. Choose Property | Application | Startup.

   2. Set Directory to the same directory where Quattro Pro was
      installed.

   3. Exit and restart Quattro Pro.
