LAN Licensing
If you want to use AHD3 on a network, please call WordStar Customer
     Service to order additional licenses.

Using AHD3 with Multiple Hardware Configurations or Multiple Users
If you want to have more than one configuration of AHD3, you can
create multiple .CFG files. To create a second .CFG file, follow
     these steps:
     1. Make a copy of the existing .CFG file, and give it a new name.
     2. Type SET AHDCFG=<path> to use the new .CFG file (where <path> is
the path and name of the new .CFG file).
     3. Make any changes you wish, either by running SETUP or by
changing preferences inside the program. All changes are saved
to the .CFG file currently being used.
     4. When you want to use a different .CFG file, simply issue another
        SET AHDCFG command.

AHD3 and Sidekick
If you are using Sidekick, you must load AHD3 before you load
     Sidekick.

AHD3 with Netware, Device Drivers, and Communications Programs
Netware, mouse drivers and other device drivers, and communication
programs should be loaded before AHD3. If AHD3 is loaded first,
then problems can occur when AHD3 is popped up.

Trouble Shooting
If you experience one of these problems, try the recommended solution.

You are unable to open the dictionary:
The path to the dictionary may be wrong, or you may not have
enough memory. Run AHD3's SETUP program to make sure AHD3 knows
the correct path to the dictionary. If this path is correct,
then free up some memory on your computer (by unloading TSRs), or
run AHD3's SETUP program to change the memory options.

You are unable to look up definitions or alternate spellings:
Your computer doesn't have enough free memory. Either free up
some memory on your computer (by unloading TSRs), or run AHD3's
SETUP program to change the memory options.

The Results list is cutting off before the end of the alphabet:
AHD3 is trying to create a Results list that is larger than list
size specified in Preferences. You may want to change your
Anagram or WordHunter search so it returns fewer words. Or, you
can run SETUP and change Anagram List size or Other lists size
to a larger number. (Note that larger list sizes require more
        memory.)

     You see strange characters onscreen:
AHD3 uses a special pronunciation font to display pronunciation
characters onscreen. If you run AHD3 with programs that control
the screen display, AHD3 will not be able to display this font
properly. (You are likely to encounter this problem if run AHD3
with Windows and press Alt+Enter to run in a window, or if you
        use other windowing programs.)
If you see the strange characters on your screen, run SETUP, and
at the Change Preferences screen, select "Don't use
pronunciation font." AHD3 will use an alternate method to
        display pronunciation characters.

You get a message that the swap file is invalid or the drive has
     insufficient free space:
AHD3 can't find space for its swap file. Use the command
SET AHDTMP=<path> to specify a location for the swap file (where
<path> is the drive and directory where you want AHD3 to create
its swap files). For example, the following SET command will
direct AHD3 to create its swap files in the \TEMP directory on
        the C: drive:
	   SET AHDTMP=C:\TEMP
If you have enough EMS or XMS memory available, setting the
AHDTMP location will not force swapping to occur to disk.
Swapping will be done to disk only if there is not sufficient
EMS or XMS memory available or if you use the /d switch when
        loading AHD3.
The swap file is automatically removed from your disk when you
exit AHD3. Be sure you don't erase the file while AHD3 is loaded
        into memory.

Your computer does not have enough memory to run AHD3:
If your computer does not have enough memory to run AHD3, you can
run a low-memory version of AHD3. To run this version of AHD3,
type AHD3MEM. This version may run a little more slowly,
but it provides the full functionality of the regular AHD3.

In addition, if you have extremely low memory, you can try using
the EMS or XMS on your computer to speed up AHD3. Use the
SET AHDMEM command to set a value between 100K and 300K. Here
are some examples for using 200K of EMS or XMS.
           TO DO THIS TYPE THIS
Use either EMS or XMS SET AHDMEM=200
Use EMS memory only SET AHDMEM=200e
Use XMS memory only SET AHDMEM=200x
